Public Relations Senior Account Executive – Corporate Purpose PR
LOCATION: Finn Partners’ Purpose & Social Impact PR practice has a PR Senior Account Executive role available that will be based in the New York global HQ of FINN Partners.  This is a full-time, direct-hire role with a hybrid weekly schedule working two days in our office and the rest remotely.  (Number of weekly remote workdays varies by dept. needs; option to work 5 days a week in office is also available.)
Our values-driven agency culture champions integrity, collaboration, innovation and inclusion.  This PR SAE role focuses on our Corporate Purpose team and is an opportunity to work on social impact and sustainability public relations campaigns for major corporations, non-profits, and global foundations, and to advance social good through integrated communications, marketing, and public relations. 
As a PR Senior Account Executive, you will be a key member of our caring, collaborative, and highly motivated team, engaged in a range of public relations assignments spanning earned media relations, publicity-driven events, and client account management/reporting.  You will be an active contributor to the quality work and earned media outcomes we generate daily for an array of clients, and you’ll be fully engaged in our publicity-driven events and account management/reporting.  The ideal candidate will have 4 prior years of strong media relations experience and public relations client account management experience in the CSR or nonprofit space; is bright, outgoing, client-focused, hard-working, organized, collaborative, detail-oriented, and a person who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-concurrent PR program assignment work environment.  Your familiarity with social media tools and channels, Muck Rack, Cision, and MS Office Suite is expected.  Your ability to work-travel nationally and internationally is required.
Finn Partners’ Purpose & Social Impact public relations practice works with a broad range of corporations, nonprofits, associations, and government agencies to raise awareness for major social causes and issues.  Our campaigns on the digital divide, sustainability, women’s economic empowerment, mental health, veteran affairs, and on health & wellness, have strengthened our clients’ reputations and elevated the voices of those on the frontlines.  More importantly, they have led to tangible social impact across multiple sectors.  We are a hands-on group of creative, strategic thinkers who are ultimately rewarded by the impactful work we accomplish with our clients.
Responsibilities:

  • Executes creative, strategic client public relations programs and campaigns.  Ensures effective client meeting agendas and media updates for weekly client account calls have been properly prepared and are up to date.
  • Is a PR account point of contact for clients and media.  Actively pitches media and successfully lands impactful pitches.  Builds and maintains strong relationships with press and executive client contacts.  Develops assets and writes public relations collateral (Press Releases, Pitches, Fact Sheets, Media Briefings, etc.) that will pique media interest.  Secures consistent media coverage across a wide range of sustainability, business, environmental trade, consumer, and news publications.  Brings to this position, their strong media contacts and proven track record securing national media placements.
  • Develops, compiles, and updates communications materials including: client facing documents, strategies, action items/recaps, and coverage reports.  Conducts admin and reporting for clients; actively participates in CSR PR department brainstorm and staff meetings.
  • Implements core PR campaigns - planning, media strategy/pitching, event management, social media, content writing/editing, research, and account administration.
  • Executes strong media relations campaigns, expert positioning and reactive media relations.  Works with the client team to secure media placements by proactively researching and pitching compelling story angles.  Actively builds and maintains strong relationships with the media across sectors, tracks journalist moves, and/or engages with new media contacts.
  • Provides PR mentorship and demonstration of public relations best practices to foster the career knowledge and growth of PR junior staff members within the team.
  • Contributes to CSR PR department thought leadership strategy/ writing and new business presentations.  Assists with client account management/counsel.

Qualifications:
  • 4 years of prior public relations experience (preferably at a PR agency working with clients in the CSR or non-profits space); experienced in being clients’ account point of contact.
  • Bachelor's degree (public relations, communications, journalism preferred)
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proof-reading skills; exceptional attention to detail, high proficiency in verbal and written communication.  Is deadline-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, growing environment where effective management of concurrent multiple PR projects and programs is required.
  • Is a collaborative team player who is eager to continue expanding their PR skill set and is able to effectively share their knowledge with jr. PR team members.
  • Able to effectively multi-task, work independently, identify and execute priorities, and implement outstanding research skills. 
  • Experienced in working with traditional media - social media – and influencer media strategies, campaigns, tools, and channels.  Utilizes strong media relations strategy and storytelling skills; drafts compelling messages and lands media pitches that elevate our clients’ programs.  Has proven ability to secure media placements.
  • Has a solid understanding of responsible business and the broader sustainability landscape.  Develops opportunistic client storyline recommendations and communication strategies surrounding them.
  • Has strong user skills with Muck Rack, Cision, MS Office Suite, Box, and related software.

Salary range is $71,000 - $75,000.  The salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience and dependent upon the workplace.
