Job Description

The firm is seeking a dynamic and personable Receptionist to join our corporate headquarters in New York City. The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for our valued clients and will uphold a welcoming environment while managing our front desk operations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet visitor and employees, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or chaperone them to specific destinations
  • Manage calendar (MS Outlook) for all conference rooms in conference center space
  • Coordinate and communicate with employee’s reserving conference space use, including notifying employee of guest arrival
  • Main point of contact for visitors (services for coat/luggage storage, direction to restrooms, beverage (water/tea/coffee) services)
  • Answer telephone and direct calls, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages or scheduling appointments
  • Arrange catering with approved vendors and maintain cleanliness in conference room
  • Maintain a professional environment in the reception area
  • Request technology support for conference center
  • Oversee use of conference center space and escalate issues
  • Perform administrative duties such as scanning, photocopying, faxing, filing, collating and creating mailing labels
  • Manage pump room usage
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by the Human Resources Department

Qualifications

  • At least one year of relevant experience working in a corporate environment
  • Able to interface and articulate well with all levels of employees and clients in a highly professional and friendly manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Must be a team player with an energetic, proactive and positive disposition
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills

Compensation

For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
