Regional Sales Manager
Semsee MAP — Wholesale Brokerage
Location: Remote - U.S.
Reports To: Heads of Sales
Type: Full-Time
About SemseeSemsee is building the only independent digital platform that covers the full small commercial insurance lifecycle — quoting, binding, and policy administration — across both admitted and E&S lines. Our Managed Access Program (MAP) is a technology-powered wholesale brokerage that gives retail agents instant access to 75+ carrier markets through a single platform. Agents enter risk information once and get comparative quotes in minutes, not days.
MAP is our primary growth engine, and we’re investing aggressively in building a dedicated sales organization for the first time. Backed by Adir Ventures, we have the capital, the technology, and the carrier relationships. What we’re adding now is the go-to-market muscle.
About the RoleWe’re looking for a high-performing Regional Sales Manager to drive premium growth by acquiring new retail agent relationships and expanding submissions from our existing agency base. This is a national role — we’ll assign territory based on your background and market opportunity.
This is not a role where you inherit a book and maintain it. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build the sales function at a company with proven product-market fit, real technology differentiation, and aggressive growth targets. You’ll be among the first dedicated sales hires, with a direct line to leadership and real influence on how we go to market. You will report to our Head of Sales (search underway), with interim reporting to the CEO.
This role is ideal for someone who has sold wholesale or MGA solutions to retail agents, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and wants to be part of building something — not just running something.
What You’ll Do- Drive Premium Growth: Meet and exceed monthly written premium targets by identifying high-potential agencies, activating new agent relationships, and growing submission volume from existing partners. You own a number, and you own the plan to hit it.
- Build and Manage Pipeline: Prospect, qualify, and develop new agency relationships. Educate agents on MAP’s value proposition — access to 75+ admitted and E&S markets through a single platform, with technology that eliminates the re-keying, phone calls, and days-long wait times of traditional wholesale.
- Own Agent Relationships: Serve as the primary point of contact for retail agents in your assigned territory. Build consultative partnerships grounded in understanding each agency’s book mix, carrier gaps, and growth priorities. Conduct regular business reviews with key agency partners.
- Grow Existing Accounts: Increase same-store premium from current agencies through platform training, appetite guidance, proactive outreach on new carrier additions and product launches, and strategic identification of coverage gaps where MAP markets can fill needs their appointed carriers can’t.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with underwriting, operations, product, and marketing to relay agent feedback, surface product opportunities, and ensure a seamless agent experience from quote to bind. Your market intelligence directly shapes our roadmap.
- Shape the GTM Playbook: As one of the first dedicated sales hires, you’ll have meaningful input into sales processes, messaging, territory strategy, and the tools we use. What you build here becomes the foundation for the team that follows.
- 3+ years in commercial P&C insurance — ideally with direct experience in wholesale, E&S, MGA, or binding authority environments
- Track record of building and growing retail agent relationships, not just maintaining them
- Experience selling into independent agencies and regional brokerages — you understand how agents make decisions about where to place business
- Comfort operating in an early-stage environment where process is still being built and your initiative matters more than your title
- Entrepreneurial mindset — you problem-solve, you don’t wait for permission, and you treat your territory like your own business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can run a compelling meeting with an agency principal and follow up with a clear, concise email
- Familiarity with small commercial lines (GL, BOP, WC, commercial property, commercial auto) and the agent workflow for placing these risks
- Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce) and comfort working in a technology-forward environment
- Technology is the product, not just a tool. You’re not selling a relationship and hoping the back office keeps up. You’re selling a platform that gives agents access to 75+ markets instantly, with AI-powered underwriting automation that processes bind orders without human intervention on routine risks. The technology closes deals.
- Breadth across admitted and E&S. Unlike competitors focused exclusively on E&S, MAP gives agents access to both admitted and surplus lines markets — a broader solution that covers more of their book.
- Ground floor with real backing. We’re backed by committed growth capital from Adir Ventures. You’re joining early enough to shape the sales org, but with enough runway and infrastructure that this isn’t a prayer — it’s a plan.
- A stellar quote-to-bind ratio. The platform works. Agents who use it often bind business at nearly three times the industry rate. Your job is to get agents onto the platform. The technology does the rest.
- Growth Opportunity: Ground floor opportunity as an early member of the Semsee team
- Our Culture: An inclusive company culture that is being built intentionally to foster stimulating, healthy, meaningful and long lasting work relationships.
- Fully Remote Team Environment
- Time Off: 4 weeks (20 Days) + 9 company observed holidays; Total 29 Days/Year
- Benefits: 70% Funded Medical/Vision/Dental; 100% Funded Life Insurance; 401k, Roth IRA; Generous 12 Weeks Paid Baby Bonding Leave, +more
Base salary of $50,000 plus performance-based variable compensation tied to premium production targets. Target total compensation of $150,000–$200,000 for on-target performance. Equity participation and benefits included.
