MongoDB is looking for a driven, results-oriented, and experienced Renewal Manager (Senior Individual Contributor) to join our Renewals Growth Organization in EMEA. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end commercial renewal lifecycle across two critical segments in the Italian market: high-velocity Enterprise Growth accounts and strategic Public Sector (PubSec) institutions.

Success in this role requires a blend of commercial acumen, operational discipline, and domain expertise in public procurement. You will navigate complex Italian administrative and regulatory frameworks while acting as a trusted commercial advisor to ensure high retention, predictable forecasts, and long-term customer value.

We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in Dublin for our hybrid working model.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Renewal Manager at MongoDB, you will own the renewal execution strategy across your assigned territory, driving high Gross Retention Rates (GRR) and closing Professional Services (PS). You will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Deal Desk, and Finance to deliver a frictionless experience for both commercial enterprises and public administrations.

Renewal & Commercial Management

  • End-to-End Ownership: Proactively lead the renewal cycle for an assigned portfolio of Italian Enterprise Growth and Public Sector accounts, managing timelines, risk mitigation, and commercial negotiations to exceed retention targets
  • Public Sector Navigation: Navigate Italian public sector procurement mechanisms, tender processes, compliance mandates, and budgetary/fiscal cycles (e.g., Consip, MePA/electronic marketplaces, framework agreements, and administrative compliance)
  • Proactive Engagement: Initiate customer and partner engagements at least 120 days prior to contract expiration to uncover requirements, align with fiscal timelines, and de-risk renewals early
  • Deal Structuring & Quoting: Prepare accurate renewal proposals, multi-year commitments, order forms, and amendments that comply with MongoDB commercial policies and public contracting guidelines
  • Account Growth & Services Attachment: Partner with Account Executives to uncover expansion opportunities, protect baseline recurring revenue, and strategically position Professional Services and training credits where appropriate

Data Analysis & Forecasting

  • Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene and accurate, real-time forecasts within Salesforce (and Tableau), tracking key renewal milestones and potential risk indicators
  • Analyze customer consumption, deployment health, and contract terms to build proactive retention strategies for at-risk accounts
  • Deliver regular, structured business updates to EMEA leadership regarding renewal progress, risk mitigation plans, and market trends

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Excellence

  • Orchestrate internal resources across Legal, Deal Desk, Finance, Compliance, and Security to address bespoke enterprise terms and public tender/compliance requirements
  • Partner with Enterprise and PubSec Field Sales teams to align on account strategy, customer positioning, and commercial terms
  • Help refine and standardize best practices for managing Italian public administration contracts within MongoDB’s EMEA operational model

We’re Looking for Someone With:

  • Experience: 4–5+ years of quota-carrying or commercial outcome-oriented experience in renewals, account management, or customer-facing sales within a fast-paced SaaS, cloud, or enterprise technology environment
  • Italian Public Sector Expertise: Proven familiarity with Italian Public Sector procurement processes, government buying cycles, public tenders (gare d’appalto), and purchasing vehicles/frameworks (e.g., Consip, MePA)
  • Track Record: Demonstrated history of consistently meeting or exceeding retention, renewal rate, or revenue quotas (recognition or excellence club achievements are a plus)
  • Commercial Negotiation: Sharp commercial instincts with experience negotiating complex contractual, legal, and pricing terms with enterprise procurement and legal departments
  • Language Skills: Native fluency in Italian (written and spoken) is required, along with professional business fluency in English, with the ability to articulate technical and commercial value to senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • Organizational Agility: Proven capability to balance high-touch, lengthy public sector procurement cycles alongside a high volume of Enterprise Growth opportunities with speed and detail orientation
  • Domain Knowledge: Prior exposure to database systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), distributed data platforms, or modern software development stacks is highly preferred
  • Location Requirement: Must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Dublin, Ireland (or adjust based on your hub policy)
Why Join Now
  • A Proven Market Leader: Join a company at the absolute forefront of data innovation, recently named to the CRN Big Data 100 and experiencing massive EMEA growth (including a landmark €74M investment and expansion across Ireland)
  • Best-in-Class Sales Enablement: Benefit from industry-renowned sales training, onboarding bootcamps, and continuous career development programs widely praised across tech employer reviews
  • Highly Rated Workplace Culture: Work within a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance environment that values diverse perspectives and offers competitive equity packages
  • Generous and Competitive Benefits: Enjoy robust mental health, fertility, parental leave, and flexible hybrid working models designed to support a sustainable work-life balance
