We are looking for a seasoned reporter who is hungry to break exclusive stories by getting out of the office to meet and develop a wide source network with some of the most influential institutional investors and financial industry experts.

This position will follow the money of North America’s hardest to access institutional investors – where allocators are investing their capital (and why) before it happens - all for a global readership of allocators, managers, consultants, and service providers.

Based in New York City, you will work alongside an energetic team of reporters who share a passion for financial journalism. You will also be a part of a global editorial team of more than 100 journalists who prioritize source development, relationship building, and building expertise in asset management and financial journalism. The US institutional investor coverage is an integral part of our business, and we are eager to find someone who can be a part of our continued growth and success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Break daily, exclusive news on institutional investors
  • Build strong relationships with allocators and industry experts by arranging in-person meetings, attending industry events, and networking as much as possible
  • Build a strong understanding of North American institutional investors, the key players, trends and challenges that impact their investment decision-making
  • Stay on top of wider industry trends that impact the key asset classes we cover (hedge funds, private markets, traditional)
  • Regularly travel, (local and domestic) for source building and to attend conferences

Requirements
  • Financial reporting experience and/or beat reporting experience
  • A desire to build a career in financial/business journalism
  • Ability to break exclusive news and write compelling and insightful analysis
  • Analytical and interested in working with data
  • Good networking skills and a track record of developing useful contacts and sources
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of investing, wealth management, and asset allocation strategies preferred
  • A self-starter who can drive your own coverage, be creative and nimble, and doesn’t get discouraged by rejection

Benefits
  • 24 days PTO and bank holidays
  • Enhanced parental leave
  • Wellness days and incentives
  • Matched 401k
  • Health and dental plans
  • Birthday day off
  • Employee assistance program
  • Travel loan scheme
  • Charity days
  • Breakfast provided in the office
  • Social events throughout the year
