Verition Fund Management LLC (“Verition”) is a multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund founded in 2008.  Verition focuses on global investment strategies including Global Credit, Global Convertible, Volatility & Capital Structure Arbitrage, Event-Driven Investing, Equity Long/Short & Capital Markets Trading, and Global Quantitative Trading.

We are seeking a Reporting BI Developer to join our technology team and support data-driven decision-making across our hedge fund operations. This role will focus on developing and maintaining reporting solutions, automating data workflows, and integrating various financial and operational data sources. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Power BI, Python (Pandas), web development (Node.js & Flask preferred), R, AWS, and databases, along with business analytics expertise in fund operations. A financial background is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain Reports: Build interactive and automated dashboards in Power BI to provide insights for portfolio managers, risk teams, and operations.
  • Data Analysis & Processing: Use Python (Pandas) and R for data transformation, statistical analysis, and reporting.
  • Web-Based Reporting Solutions: Develop lightweight web applications using Node.js and Flask to deliver financial and operational insights.
  • AWS Cloud Integration: Leverage AWS services such as S3, Lambda, RDS, EventBridge, SNS, and Step Functions to manage data workflows and reporting pipelines.
  • Database Management: Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage for reporting solutions.
  • Automation & Workflow Orchestration: Automate data collection, transformation, and reporting processes using AWS and scripting techniques, as well as Power Query, Power Automation.
  • Business Analytics & Fund Operations: Collaborate with front-office, middle-office, and back-office teams to translate operational and portfolio data into actionable insights.
  • Performance Optimization: Enhance the efficiency of data models, ETL pipelines, and dashboards for real-time and batch reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric – implementing, data streaming, and real time reporting
  • Power BI – Strong experience in building interactive dashboards, DAX queries, and Power Query.
  • Python (Pandas) – Proficient in data wrangling, analysis, and scripting.
  • Web Development – Experience in Node.js and Flask preferred.
  • R Programming – Familiarity with statistical analysis and reporting in R.
  • AWS – Hands-on experience with AWS services like S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SNS, Step Functions.
  • Database Management – Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL solutions
  • Experience in hedge fund, asset management, or financial services is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of fund operations, portfolio analytics, and risk reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders across technology, investment, and operations teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of quantitative finance, risk management, and trading systems.
  • Exposure to machine learning or data science applications in finance.

Salary Range
$100,000$200,000 USD
