The Team:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the North American Sales effort across new business and revenue retention within the MDVA (Market Data, Valuations, Analytics) division of Market Intelligence. Successful team members will develop critical skills and competencies that will help them progress their careers within the MDVA sales team. 

This is a client facing role where team members need to customer base to maintain relationships and existing revenue as well as identifying upsell opportunities.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Help manage our prospecting efforts on a wide spectrum, including managing marketing leads, new business campaigns, customer upgrade campaigns etc.
  • Managing sales tasks within our CRM system
  • Help sales team with booking meetings, preparing materials, presenting at meetings
  • Analyze territories and existing accounts to identify cross-sell opportunities
  • Works with legal and sales management to accurately deliver proposals and contracts
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines 

This role exposes the candidate to the following:

  • Broaden cross asset knowledge across the markets
  • Broaden knowledge about finance industry
  • Learn our product’s selling features and narratives that put us in a position to win business
  • Learn vital sales skills: generate leads, cold calling, pitching, negotiations and contracting skills

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $53,844 to $71,260. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

  • Organizational skills are incredibly important in this role and in a sales role in general
  • The ability to network and build relationships
  • Basic understanding of financial markets, instruments, financial math is a benefit
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with platforms such as Salesforce or Outreach.io an asset
  • Curious about the financial services industry and a willingness to learn
  • Enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks and problem solving  
  • Committed to personal and professional development
