Role Description

The Sales Development Representative, Outbound, is responsible for generating net-new pipeline by proactively identifying, researching, and prospecting into nonprofit organizations that could benefit from Givebutter. This role is for someone who thrives on the challenge of building conversations from scratch: through cold calls, personalized emails, and social outreach, and has the energy and resilience to consistently fill the top of the funnel. Success here requires a drive to exceed activity targets, a hunter mentality, and a genuine belief in the mission of the nonprofits we serve.

We want to hear from people who…

  • Are a self starter and motivated to succeed in a fast paced environment

  • A team player with a positive winning attitude

  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt quickly

  • An empathetic mind-set with a customer first mentality

Responsibilities

  • Research nonprofit organizations and build targeted lists of prospects using LinkedIn, HubSpot, and other tools.

  • Reach out to prospective customers through cold calls, personalized emails, and social channels to generate interest in Givebutter.

  • Lead discovery conversations to assess fit and timing, then book qualified meetings for Account Executives.

  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly goals for calls, outreach, and qualified meetings.

  • Keep HubSpot records accurate and current, including outreach activity, conversation notes, prospect status, and pipeline progress.

  • Use performance data and feedback to improve outreach messaging, sequences, and targeting.

  • Stay informed about Givebutter’s products, customer stories, and nonprofit fundraising trends to make outreach relevant and helpful.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of prior outbound sales or SDR experience; cold calling and multi-channel prospecting experience is required

  • Demonstrated ability to hit or exceed activity and pipeline targets in a high-volume, self-directed environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling, personalized cold outreach

  • Resilient and self-motivated; comfortable with rejection and energized by the challenge of building a pipeline from scratch

  • Experience with CRM software (HubSpot preferred) and familiarity with outbound prospecting or sequencing tools

  • Passion for social impact, nonprofits, or tech for good
