About Sunset

At its core, Sunset was founded to help founders. We started by supporting startups through shutting down, but we've since expanded into unlocking a new revenue stream for all types of businesses.

In 2025, we earned a secret: the data every company generates on a daily basis (collaboration, communication, building) is some of the most valuable training data in the world. Public and synthetic can only get frontier models so far, so the next generation of model progression depends on real, proprietary data grounded in how actual businesses operate. We're a primary source of it, partnering directly with the frontier AI labs building what's next.

Why join Sunset now:
  • We've scaled from $0 to a multi-eight figures run rate in a matter of months

  • We've raised from top-tier investors (Floodgate, Afore, Ludlow, Hustle Fund, etc.)

  • We're small enough that you'll carry outsized responsibility and grow as fast as the company does

  • You'll partner and build for the fastest and most important companies in the world

  • You'll be a part of building a massive, category-defining business from the ground floor

The Role

Sunset is hiring a Business Development Representative for the Data Partnerships team. You'll be the first point of contact for operating companies exploring a new revenue stream through data licensing. Your primary responsibility will be building qualified pipeline for our Account Executives and maintaining a high standard in every interaction. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll need to drive volume while maintaining an extremely high quality bar.

What You'll Do
  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly targets for qualified calls booked

  • Generate a high volume of opportunities through personalized outreach

  • Partner closely with Account Executives on sourcing, strategy, and deal handoff

  • Continuously find ways to improve and iterate

How You'll Be Measured
  • Number of qualified calls booked per month for AEs

Required aptitude
  • You're excited about building in-person, 5 days a week, from our office in Dumbo

  • You want to work hard and strive for world-class levels in performance

  • 12+ months of SDR experience: or a consulting, closing, or operations role with clear quota ownership

  • You're relentless and don't slow down after hundreds of no's

  • Comfortable going after healthy, ongoing companies with no urgent trigger pushing them to say yes: persistence matters even more here

  • Technically sharp enough to speak to the data/de-identification angle if it comes up

  • Always look for ways to improve and iterate

  • High EQ and IQ: sharp and credible, not a stereotypical hard-sell rep

Bonus
  • Experience in consulting or operations

  • Internship or early-career experience in a performance-based or client-facing environment

Compensation & Benefits
  • OTE (On Target Earnings) of $135K

    • Comprised of: $75K base + $60K variable

  • Meaningful equity

  • 100% covered medical, dental, and vision

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Free gym + workout class memberships (via Wellhub)

  • $500 desk allowance

How We Hire
  1. Intro Chat (20 min): mutual fit and interests

  2. Mock Pitch (1hr): sell us something

  3. Take home: prepare a short case study

  4. Onsite (3 hrs): present your case study, meet the team, have snacks

  5. References -> Offer
