About the Role:

The Sales Development Representative's (SDR’s) main focus is engaging with new prospective customers via outbound activities (email, phone calls, LinkedIn), shining a light on potential challenges they’re facing or goals they’re trying to address and determining whether DataCamp’s solutions can address those needs. Success in this role is highly dependent on your ability to initiate conversations and network from the ground up, the ability to consistently and enthusiastically complete your day to day activities, applying critical thinking in every situation, and your professional persistence.

What You’ll Do:
  • Generate interest with your prospects by leveraging all outreach channels: phone calls, email, and LinkedIn
  • Work independently and with Account Executives to build your territory account list on a weekly basis via outbound prospecting tools like ZoomInfo, LeadIQ, and Sales Navigator
  • Qualify leads with intent, curiosity, respect and a high level of urgency
  • Convert conversations, and meetings into qualified opportunities for our team of Account Executives
  • Reverse engineer your own conversion metrics to build a healthy pipeline -  what activities lead to the best result, how many activities are needed to achieve results, etc.
  • Keep our CRM (Salesforce) up to date with activity, lead and account information
  • Stay up to date on the latest industry trends, DataCamp content, product developments and our customers
What You’ll Bring:
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively is a MUST
  • Resilient and positive attitude - you’ll get a lot of “No’s” before you get a “Yes” and need to roll with the punches
  • Ability to take initiative and reach autonomy in your responsibilities
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Self-starter who is dedicated, eager, and driven to succeed 
  • Interest in a career in tech sales
  • BA/BS from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Some corporate experience (Software or Ed tech sales is a plus)

Compensation

The base salary for this position may vary based on several factors, including the approved job level. The base salary for this role is $66,300 (Total OTE: $86,900). Salary is one component of our total compensation package. This position also qualifies for equity (i.e., stock options). The benefits available for this position include flexible time off, a 401K retirement plan + matching, insurance (medical, dental, vision, life), and 11 paid holidays. We also provide paid sick time as required by state and local law. Additional benefits and perks contained in our standard employee benefits package are also offered for this position.
