What is Vertoe?

Vertoe is NYC’s leading luggage storage provider with over 50 locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Vertoe simply connects anyone looking for short term storage to local shops who can provide that space. All the local shops are carefully vetted by our team. Founded by individuals who have worked at Google, Microsoft, Lindt and Penguin Random House in the past, we are a young startup that’s growing very quickly!

Our requirement:

We are looking for a driven, well-spoken and street-smart Business Operations Manager in New York City that can expand the network of Vertoe locations. If you’re a hustler, well spoken and know how to get things done in a quick and scrappy way, you could be a great fit!

Please note that this will primarily be a field job with a full time commitment in NYC and Vertoe will not be able to sponsor a visa.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Visit stores (for example, shops, bodegas, hotels, etc.) in NYC metropolitan area to get them to sign up on Vertoe’s website as Vertoe locations. 
- Lead charge for expansion to other east coast cities. 
- Lead partnerships with chains for acquiring stores and space in bulk. 
- Research and plan for new stores & partnerships that can be potential targets. 
- Once a store is signed up, help train store’s staff for day to day operations. 
- Manage relationships with the stores---take weekly/monthly updates, address grievances, handle money transfers to/from store, etc. 
- Support other activities of the business as the need arises - we’re a startup after all!

Our ideal candidate has the following skills and qualifications:

- Outgoing, self-starter and doesn’t hesitate to talk to new people 
- Smart, fast learner. 
- Ready to wear multiple hats and help out with whatever is the need of the business. 
- Great presentation skills among a variety of audiences from store staff to corporate teams. 
- Fluent in both spoken and written English 
- Strong negotiation and closing skills 
- Above-average computer skills with experience in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
- Ability to travel in NYC metropolitan area. 
- Should have at least 2 years of sales or business development or operations experience (startup experience is a bonus).
