mParticle is growing our Finance team and is seeking a Senior Accountant.
As Senior Accountant at mParticle, you will be someone passionate about being a part of an early stage company where they have the ability to help shape what accounting means for the company and contribute to the company's development. This person will be highly detail-oriented with 3-5 years of accounting and/or audit. Prior experience with early-stage companies is a plus. CPA (or CPA candidate) preferred. Must have advanced Excel skills with a strong work ethic, be able to work independently, and be willing to contribute to the good of the team by getting any task completed. Must have strong organizational skills, produce work with a high level of accuracy and meet a large number of continuous deadlines. Prior experience with accounting system implementations is a plus. Reports directly to the Director of Accounting.

Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly close with the help of 2 other team members. Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements, management reports and variance analysis
- Maintaining reconciliation schedules in Excel; posting monthly detail in QuickBooks via General Journal entries
- Ability to explain accounting concepts to non-accountants.
- Manage revenue recognition spreadsheets. Knowledge of ASC 605 and SaaS revenue arrangements.
- Document policies and procedures. Help write accounting manual.
- Assist in preparation of SOX narratives and control matrixes.
- Assist in preparing materials for audit.
- Process improvement to help the company scale accounting process as the company grows.
- Assist the FP&A department as needed.
- Other ad-hoc projects or administrative tasks as directed by the Controller.
Desired Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business from an accredited college/university
- CPA (or CPA candidate) is a plus, but not required
- Strong prior senior-level accounting/audit background
- Knowledge of ASC 605 and SaaS revenue arrangements
- Quickbooks Online is a plus, but not required
- Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Other Adv formulas)
- Experience building controls into Excel spreadsheets
- Highly organized, thorough and attentive to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to prioritize, manage, and work quickly and efficiently. A willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done.
