Hours: Monday – Friday 10AM – 7PM; Extra hours as needed. Weekends as needed but may be remote.

Who we are:

StayMarquis is a Hamptons-focused, full-service vacation rental marketing and management company that allows owners and travelers to "rent without reservation". By providing first-class marketing, booking, rental management and concierge services, StayMarquis is involved at every step of the vacation rental process, ensuring a streamlined and hassle-free experience each and every time. Specifically, we curate property listings, advertise them across the web, manage guest inquiries, facilitate bookings, collect payment, and maintain guest communication leading up to their stay. We also have a property management team that prepares each house prior to guest arrival, acts as the point-of-contact during their stay, serve as a human face for check-ins and check-outs, and cleans the property after guests depart.

The role:

Travelers find the properties that we represent on websites like Airbnb, Homeaway, VRBO, Flipkey, as well as our own website at www.staymarquis.com. When a traveler is interested in booking one of our properties or has questions about a specific property, area or the booking process in general, they reach out to us directly, via email or phone.

StayMarquis' goal is to get each property booked, for the right price and to the right people. It is our job to be the first line of defense for homeowners, which means that we handle any and all property-related questions and vet each traveler to make sure he/she is a good fit for the property at hand.

We are looking to a hire a Travel Specialist ("TS"). The TS will primarily be responsible for managing various day-to-day operations, including maintaining communications with travelers, and assisting with administrative tasks. The responsibilities of the TS include but are not limited to the following:

1. Respond to inbound traveler inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
2. Walk travelers through the booking process and assist them with making reservations.
3. Recommend properties that suit travelers needs.
4. Maintain all guest communication from the first inquiry to booking..
5. Speak with homeowners to deliver or retrieve information or seek answers to traveler questions that we do not yet have the answers to.

The fit:

This role could be a fit if you have:

  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, client relations, hospitality, finance and/or high-end service industry
  • A people first attitude and a desire to help others succeed
  • An impressive amount of reliability and, “I got this”
  • The ability to solve complex problems independently
  • Willingness to pick up tasks that do not fall under the job description
  • An extreme amount of patience.
  • Ability to keep composure in a stressful environment.

Bonus points:

  • Previous experience in the vacation rental industry
  • Previous experience in account management
  • Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills

Compensation

  • Salary plus bonus which is tied to booking revenue
  • Much of your compensation will be based on bonus. Given this is an inside sales role, we are looking for someone who is extremely motivated, can move at a fast pace, and is self-driven. You’ll notice above that the “hours” are 10AM-7PM but given we are a seasonal business, if you are in the process of working a lead and it extends into the weekend, or “off-hours” it is expected that you will WANT to plug in to do everything you can for that next booking. If you don’t have that sort of attitude, this role is not for you.
