The CMBS Primary Trading Desk originates, structures, and distributes commercial mortgage-backed securities, and is responsible for the pricing, risk management, and distribution of balance sheet commercial real estate loans. We are hiring an experienced analyst to join the desk.

Job summary

As an analyst on the CMBS Primary Trading Desk, you will support trading and execution while helping analyze collateral, structures, and securitization economics. You will contribute to pricing and risk management decisions that directly impact how we originate and distribute commercial real estate risk across the market.

Job responsibilities
  • Support the desk across trading, execution, and market analysis
  • Support the pricing, risk management, and distribution of balance sheet commercial real estate loans
  • Analyze commercial real estate collateral, loan structures, and securitization economics
  • Prepare materials supporting origination, structuring, and distribution
  • Build and maintain financial models, pricing analyses, and market updates
  • Track market trends and trade flow to inform desk decisions
  • Work closely with other traders and partners across the firm
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Prior analyst experience, ideally in trading, structured finance, or commercial real estate
  • Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive to keep learning
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Clear communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Series 7, Series 63, and Series 79 required; candidates without them are expected to obtain them promptly after hiring
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Familiarity with CMBS markets and the securitization process
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Intex, and/or Trepp
