The Customer & Commercial Success (CCS) organization, an organization within MCAPS-Core, is the connected engine that turns Microsoft’s commercial strategy into execution at scale — making it simpler and faster for the field to win for every customer, in every segment, region, and role. The organization brings together planning, landing, execution excellence, services portfolio and delivery, and field activation across Account Team Unit (ATU), Solution Team Unit (STU), and Customer Success Unit (CSU) to accelerate customer value, drive growth, and strengthen the end-to-end experience across every customer moment.
 

This is a high-visibility individual-contributor role for someone equally comfortable inside a semantic model and in front of leadership. As the go-to owner of Security Usage Analyst, you will work with stakeholders to define what counts as usage, publish and iterate the reports the field depends on, and clear the governance, access, and data-quality blockers that sit between telemetry and action. You will partner across Product Group, Marketing, Finance, Business Architecture, and Compensation to make security usage a reliable, compensable source of truth.


Candidates who live within 50 miles of Microsoft's Redmond campus will be required to work in the office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

Security Usage Intelligence and Reporting
•    Own the definition, launch, and iteration of security usage reporting, including annual metric transitions, and publish it in Microsoft's enterprise reporting platform as a reliable, compensable source of truth for the field.
•    Build and maintain executive-ready reporting dashboards, leveraging semantic models and narratives that integrate Threat Protection, Data Security, and Cloud Security into a single story for field execution.
•    Author enablement content and field guidance that clarifies metric logic, licensing and subscription cycles, and usage thresholds, giving the field clear paths to diagnose issues and drive customer adoption.
Telemetry, Data Quality, and Field Escalation
•    Serve as the primary point of contact for telemetry and metric questions, leading root-cause investigations into data fluctuations and defects.
•    Run a structured field escalation process, partnering with engineering and data teams to resolve systemic issues and drive down time-to-fix for data defects.
•    Host recurring reporting clinics and office hours that accelerate field readiness and keep metric interpretation consistent across teams.
Governance, Access, and Compliance
•    Establish and maintain a governance framework for fiscal-year and compensable metrics, including access controls, attestation.
•    Model integrity and full adherence to Microsoft policies, and compliance requirements in every decision.
Strategic Planning and Cross-Org Influence
•    Lead preparation and planning for annual compensable metrics, building alignment across Product Group, Marketing, Finance, Compensation, and Business Architecture teams.
•    Deliver ad-hoc analyses and active-usage studies that inform business strategy and leadership decisions.
•    Build and scale cross-org data insights and promote data-driven decision making, hosting monthly reviews that democratize insights across Product, Finance, Marketing, Business Strategy, and the field.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years experience in business consulting, sales, sales operations, information technology (IT), account management, business development, marketing, IT field sales, or a related field | OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years experience in in Near Term Strategy (1-2 years out), Management Consulting, or Finance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling and DAX, and hands-on experience with enterprise reporting platforms and large telemetry datasets.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying AI and automation to relevant workflows, such as using AI-assisted analytics, Microsoft Copilot, or scripted automation to accelerate data preparation, analysis, insight generation, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear metrics, executive narratives, and actionable field guidance.
  • Demonstrated success partnering across product, engineering, finance, and sales in a large, matrixed enterprise environment to align on priorities.
  • Experience with cloud or cybersecurity products such as Microsoft 365 E5 Security, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Purview or other similar offerings in the industry.

Sales Strategy Enablement IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
