TITLE: Senior Business Analyst for Accounts Receivable

Overview of the Team
This position reports to the Director, Global Accounts Receivable based in New York.
Role Overview:
A Senior Business Analyst for Accounts Receivable (AR) is responsible for analyzing and improving AR processes, creating financial reports, and using data to inform strategic decisions. This role typically requires a bachelor's degree, strong analytical and Excel skills, experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle, and the ability to collaborate with other departments. Key duties include process improvement, automation, and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payments and collections.
Core responsibilities
- Analyze and improve processes: Evaluate existing AR processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions to improve accuracy and speed. This can include implementing new software or features.
- Financial analysis and reporting: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor key AR metrics like Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and to provide insights for management.
- Drive automation: Work on projects to automate AR processes, such as cash application, deduction management, and collections.
- Data management and reconciliation: Ensure the accuracy of financial data and assist with reconciliation tasks, such as comparing subledger and general ledger balances.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with other departments like sales, operations, and IT to align AR processes with business goals.
Required skills and qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Technical skills:
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, macros).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Experience with BI and reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
- Analytical skills: A strong analytical and mathematical mindset with high attention to detail.
- Soft skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. The ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment is also crucial.
Examples of specific tasks
- Consolidating results across different entities.
- Interpreting financial trends for leadership.
- Working with IT to develop a roadmap for technology implementation, such as enhancements to AR automation software like HighRadius.
- Calculating and ensuring the timely and accurate payment of revenue share for partners.
- Acting as a key contact for customer invoicing inquiries and helping resolve issues.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Salesforce and Oracle Fusion experience preferable but not required
- Detail-oriented with demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
- Proficiency in using advanced Excel functions and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Proven ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
