Who We Are 

Clean Power Alliance (CPA) is Southern California’s locally operated not-for-profit default electricity provider for 38 communities within Los Angeles and Ventura counties and the 4th largest electricity provider in the State of California. We provide clean renewable energy at competitive rates to over three million residents and businesses through approximately one million customer accounts. 

What You’ll Do 

The Senior Associate, Integrated Marketing position will lead the development of various marketing campaigns and initiatives, assist in elevating CPA’s visibility and brand awareness, and drive customer program enrollment. This is the perfect role for someone who is a strategic thinker, has strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of marketing principles and techniques.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading marketing campaigns and initiatives. 

Who You’ll Work With 

The Senior Associate reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Digital Strategy.  You will work within the Communications and Marketing team, but also collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Ability to fully own tasks and processes with minimal oversight. 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines and escalate key issues. 
  • Proficient with data visualization tools and software (i.e., Tableau, Power BI).   

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Marketing Strategy Development:  Develop and present detailed marketing plans to stakeholders, articulating our vision and strategy for promoting CPA’s initiatives.  Develop integrated marketing strategies that align with our mission of promoting clean, renewable energy through collaborations with CPA management. Lead the development of cross-channel marketing plans that ensure consistent messaging, audience targeting, customer experience, and campaign objectives across all touchpoints. Create and inform brand and program strategy development by leveraging secondary and primary market research, analytics, and benchmarks, ensuring our approaches are data-driven and effective. Streamline workflows, improve project execution, enhance decision-making, and increase operational efficiency.  
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external marketing vendors, including advertising agencies, translation companies, and printers, ensuring all deliverables meet CPA’s brand guidelines and are delivered on time and within budget. Identify and select external vendors for marketing services and projects, ensuring they align with CPA’s goals and standards. Negotiate project estimates with vendors to secure favorable terms that fit within CPA’s fiscal budgets. Develop scopes for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) that support integrated marketing initiatives across multiple channels  
  • Campaign Planning and Execution: Manage the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across traditional and digital channels, maximizing outreach and engagement.  Manage community outreach through events, and engagement activities to increase CPA awareness and program participation. Responsible for ensuring brand consistency across all marketing channels and touchpoints, reinforcing CPA’s commitment to clean energy and community service. Lead coordination with internal teams for seamless campaign executions and approvals, ensuring alignment with CPA’s overall objectives. Monitor cross-channel campaign performance make data-driven recommendations for optimizations, continuously improving our marketing effectiveness. Contribute to CPA’s yearly planning and goals, ensuring marketing strategies support our broader organizational objectives. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with External Affairs, Customer Care, Programs, Finance, and other departments to align marketing priorities and ensure cohesive communication. Liaise between marketing and other departments, facilitating smooth interactions and project executions. 
  • Content Creation and Accuracy: Ensure all marketing materials, including original copy created or managed by the manager, are free from grammatical mistakes, factual inaccuracies, and inconsistencies in brand messaging. Responsible for proofreading content and verifying all information before publication, maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism. 
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and track metrics, identify trends, and interpret data to evaluate integrated marketing performance across paid and owned media, ensuring effective campaign adjustments and informed decision-making. 
  • Project Management and Coordination: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring all components are executed as planned. Manage and track the progress of marketing communications (Marcom) initiatives, promptly addressing any discrepancies or issues to maintain the overall quality of projects. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Successful Candidates Must Demonstrate the Following Abilities: 

  • Utilize approved technology and AI tools, as appropriate, to improve efficiency, streamline work processes, and support effective job performance in accordance with CPA guidelines (preferred). 
  • Demonstrate good judgment and integrity. 
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills. 
  • Communicate effectively, orally, and in writing; and the ability to translate complex technical information into non-technical language. 
  • Have a strong work ethic and be comfortable taking initiative/working in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Work well on diverse teams and be highly collaborative. 
  • Must be able to work at a desk and on a computer for prolonged periods. 

Qualifications 

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and 5-6 years of experience in marketing, communications, or journalism.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or journalism preferred. 
  • Experience with Google analytics, social media, and media monitoring analytics.
  • Experience with MailChimp, project management software, and Tableau.

Work Location 

This position is eligible for either Hybrid or Remote options. The Hybrid option requires attendance in our Downtown Los Angeles office on a full-time basis 2- 3 days per week on days determined by CPA, with work location on the remaining days either in office or remote. This includes a transportation allowance. The Remote option requires you to be available to attend full-time in office days and/or field events within Los Angeles and Ventura Counties in accordance with the needs of the company that may start as early as 8:30am at least 2 days per week. The Remote & Hybrid options require full-time in-person attendance at organization or team-wide events 3 times per year for 3-5 days per event. All staff are required to work during CPA’s office hours Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm PST.  


Benefits

The salary range for this position is $120,008.17- $180,012.25, with exact compensation to be determined by Clean Power Alliance, dependent on experience. Benefits include health care, a 401(k)-like match program, paid vacation, and sick leave. This is not a civil service position; however, all CPA employees are required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests form, also known as the Form 700.
