ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Senior Business Analyst within Apex's Tax and Cost Basis Client Integration Operations team, you will play a key role in onboarding clients by analyzing business needs, identifying process efficiencies, and driving successful implementations. You will serve as the bridge between external and internal stakeholders, technical teams, and clients — with a focus on data quality and process optimization.
This is a versatile, hands-on role: you'll draw on technical expertise and industry knowledge while maintaining a customer-facing presence with stakeholders ranging from analysts to C-suite executives. Through a combination of technical acumen, strategic communication, and project management, you'll help ensure seamless system operations and deliver solutions that align with both client and organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Client Onboarding Analysis and Support
- Evaluate and document client requirements for tax and cost basis onboarding, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Design and implement effective workflows to support seamless client integration and reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, operations, technology, and product partners throughout onboarding engagements
Data Assessment and Quality Management
- Analyze incoming client data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to tax and cost basis standards
- Propose and implement automated solutions to improve data quality and reduce manual intervention
- Build and maintain data visualizations and dashboards to monitor data health and onboarding progress
Process Optimization and Solutions Development
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify gaps in onboarding processes and deliver actionable recommendations
- Develop and maintain detailed process documentation to support consistency and scalability
- Lead automation efforts to streamline end-to-end onboarding workflows and reduce manual effort for clients and internal teams
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
- Communicate onboarding progress, challenges, and trends to senior management, with clear, actionable recommendations
- Provide insights on client behavior, data usage, and performance metrics to improve onboarding outcomes
- Conduct post-onboarding reviews to identify gaps and continuously refine processes
Qualifications and Attributes:
Experience & Skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in cost basis and tax reporting operations, including familiarity with cost basis/tax reporting back-office systems and client integration or similar roles in financial services
- Working knowledge of Linux and Bash/Shell scripting, with proficiency in SQL/PSQL
- Experience using data to solve complex business challenges
- Project management experience, with a track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budge, experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and complex systems, comfortable engaging with clients across all levels, from analysts to CEOs
- Familiarity with APIs and how they enable data exchange between systems (a plus)
- Working knowledge of AI tools (e.g., Claude) for business solutioning

Salary Range
$103,680-$129,600The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
