About Us:
Capitalize is a mission-driven company solving critical problems in the $20 trillion retirement savings market with delightful products, scalable technology, and a world-class team.
At our core, we’re modernizing the $1 trillion in retirement account transfers (401(k) rollovers) that happen annually and currently involve manual, paper-based processes. By doing so, we’re helping the almost 20 million Americans who change jobs each year with a 401(k) do the right thing with their assets rather than lose them to fees and taxes.
Our Enterprise offering includes a full suite of enterprise-grade APIs used by leading financial institutions to help their users find and transfer retirement accounts as part of their core funding flows. Our Consumer offering helps individuals digitally locate forgotten 401(k)s and consolidate them into one of our brand-name financial partners.
We’ve raised $35mm from leading venture capital investors including RRE Ventures, Canapi Ventures, Greycroft, and others, and we’ve been recognized as one of TIME’s 100 Best Inventions and by Forbes as one of the Top 50 Fintech Companies in the US.
What You'll Do:
Our business is growing quickly, and that growth requires a clear view of moving pieces and how to optimize our platform in real-time. We’re looking for someone who can turn data into actionable insights. In this role, you’ll work closely with the data analytics lead, partnerships, operations, and members of the leadership team to connect partner activity, pipeline trends, and operational capacity so the business can scale predictably and efficiently.
- Own the weekly business performance review by synthesizing pipeline trends, partner activity, and operational data into clear, decision-ready updates for the leadership team
- Be the connective tissue between partnerships, operations, and analytics - translating what’s happening in the data into actions each team can actually use
- Build and maintain a forward-looking demand and revenue forecast.
- Spot where the funnel is underperforming, whether in conversion, throughput, or partner effectiveness, and partner cross-functionally on the right solutions.
- Bring generalist analytical horsepower to high-priority business problems as they arise. The scope of this role will grow with the company.
If you're the kind of person who reads a dashboard and immediately starts asking "why" - this role is for you. You'll sit at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution, with direct visibility into how the business is performing and real influence over where it goes next. This isn't a reporting function. The work you do here will shape how leadership makes decisions, how partners operate, and how the company scales.
What You'll Bring:
- Strong analytical ability and business judgment. You’re comfortable working with data and able to connect analysis to real business outcomes, focusing on the factors that truly drive performance.
- Solid SQL and data analysis skills. You can query data, explore patterns, and build analytical models. You won’t need to build pipelines - the data infrastructure already exists.
- Experience analyzing end-to-end funnels or pipelines. You’re familiar with key funnel metrics and analytical approaches such as cohort analysis, funnel stage conversion, drop-off analysis, and growth or lifecycle analytics.
- Cross-functional collaboration experience. You’ve worked closely with teams such as partnerships, operations, and analytics to translate insights into actions that deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Clear and effective communication. You can explain trends and insights in a way that helps stakeholders quickly understand what matters and what to do next.
- Strong structured thinking. You’re comfortable working with ambiguous or imperfect data and can organize messy inputs into clear frameworks and actionable insights.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted analytical tools. You’re comfortable using modern AI tools to accelerate analysis, explore data more efficiently, and surface insights faster.
Benefits We Offer:
- Competitive compensation and equity in the company
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance, with 100% premium covered for staff and 50% for dependents
- 401k plan access
- Unlimited paid time off
- 12 weeks of fully-paid parental leave
Compensation range: $110k–$140k base salary, depending on experience
Note: This role is hybrid based in NYC, with a requirement of at least 3 days in-office.
We’re a mission-driven company focused on doing what’s right - for our customers and for our team. That means assembling a group of diverse, hardworking people who want to be their best in a setting that’s open and inclusive for all. We’re committed to diversity in both measurable terms (e.g. gender, race) and across other dimensions like skill sets and experiences. We believe that a diverse, equitable and inclusive company enriches our professional and personal lives. If that speaks to you, we want to meet you. Come help us build!
