The Creative Lab sits within Spotify Advertising, the business unit within Spotify that focuses on connecting brands to billions of fans around the world. Our team is Spotify Advertising’s in-house creative agency, responsible for building branded experiences. We collaborate with brands and agencies to inspire, create, and scale creativity with Spotify-first thinking.
We are seeking a seasoned Creative Strategist to join our talented creative strategy team in New York, dedicated to inspiring the best ideas centered around Spotify through proactive and reactive responses to creative briefs, co-creating and building with our biggest brands, creators, and advertisers today. We are storytellers who are obsessed with how ideas can be brought to life through the superpowers of our platform, and we are looking for someone to lead the team through our next evolution, champion the potential of our products and offerings and elevate our work.
What You’ll Do
- Inspire and educate internal and external teams on the power of creativity to connect brands to fans
- Develop long-term brand and vertical strategies in deep partnership with sales, with the goal of building a world class advertising platform
- Act as an essential partner to the US Advertising Business, and marketing liaison to other XFN teams
- Be a Spotify evangelist, inspiring marketers and agencies through creative and Advertising marketing workshops as well as at industry events
- Create compelling integrated creative narratives & initiatives that drive awareness and demand, from a core target audience of creative and media agencies as well as brand marketers
- Partner with clients and agencies to develop award-winning, best in class advertising on Spotify at scale
- Identify, develop and maintain a unique position for Spotify’s creative offerings and deliver them in a compelling way to convince partners to explore solutions with us
- Develop, plan and scale approach to supporting top clients; driving approach to JBP support and coordination
- Facilitate inspirational workshops with mid and senior level partners to find the right balance of boundary pushing creative expression and brand realities
- Work closely with other teams within Creative Lab, including our mighty Ops and production team who leads world class craft and execution for our clients, our Creative Intelligence team who work with our insights and data science teams to understand creative best practices that will inform the development of best in class, effective campaigns on Spotify and a strong bench of global creative leads across all disciplines
- Develop and demonstrate creative thought leadership on industry, advertising, visual and digital culture and trends as input and fodder to inspire internal and external partners
Who You Are
- You have 6+ years of experience in creative direction, creative strategy at a platform, media brand or agency
- You have the ability to develop compelling, thought provoking creative and strategic narratives that best demonstrate the creative potential of our platform
- You are a world class presenter who can deliver a narrative persuasively to audiences of all sizes; from a small room with media agencies to small rooms with CMOs of a large brand, to large formats like conferences and on stages
- You are a quick thinker who can collaborate well with internal and external stakeholders like contractors and vendors to bring ideas to life
- You are agile, nimble, and able to move at pace with the business needs in support of the company’s long-term vision
- You have experience managing own workflows, e.g. managing process and ways of working internally and externally for your select list of accounts and verticals
- You have experience working with mid to senior level stakeholders at media agencies, creative agencies, and brands
- You are a keen observer and documentor of culture, with a keen understanding of what is relevant and an eye for upcoming visual, digital and tech trends
- You are an expert written and verbal communicator, with the ability to articulate abstract creative concepts and persuade audiences when required
- You have a deep understanding of integrated marketing development, tech platforms and social media landscape, with experience in digital first production
- You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment and across stakeholders in business marketing, brand, and product teams to build consensus on shared initiatives
- You are highly organized and strong operational skills with the ability to work across time zones and markets
Where You’ll Be
- This role is based in New York, NY
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
The United States base range for this position is $94,761 to $135,373, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
