Get to Know the Opportunity

Voya Financial is seeking a Senior Data Product Owner to drive discovery, strategy, and delivery for data products within our Retail Wealth Management domain. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, translating business goals into actionable data solutions that drive measurable outcomes.

You will partner closely with business leaders, engineers, architects, and data professionals to define product vision, prioritize roadmaps, and maximize value delivery. This position plays a key role in advancing Voya's Retail Wealth Management initiatives, making experience with retail wealth platforms, advisor technologies, and data-driven decision making highly valuable.

Location: Remote or hybrid work arrangement in accordance with Voya's flexible workplace guidelines.

The Contributions You'll Make
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by understanding business needs and translating them into technical requirements for the Retail Wealth Management data domain.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to define, prioritize, and execute the product roadmap.
  • Articulate technology vision and strategy while ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.
  • Design and implement data solutions in collaboration with architects and engineering teams.
  • Measure product and solution success through analytics and performance insights.
  • Translate business requirements into technical features, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and product documentation.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog to maximize business value and support sprint and program increment planning.
  • Facilitate communication between business partners and engineering teams to validate requirements and delivered solutions.
  • Support development teams by providing data specifications, requirements clarification, and domain expertise.
  • Deliver and promote effective adoption of data products and solutions across the business.
  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across business and technology teams.
  • Mentor and guide junior product owners and product team members.
  • Develop compelling business narratives and presentations to gain stakeholder and leadership support.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology, business analysis, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of product ownership, product management, or data product experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Experience working as a Product Owner within an Agile/Scrum software development environment.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms, including Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Strong SQL and data querying skills.
  • Understanding of data management and data modeling concepts.
  • Experience defining product strategies, product roadmaps, and measurable objectives such as OKRs.
  • Strong business analysis and requirements management skills, including requirements elicitation, documentation, analysis, and prioritization.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities, competing stakeholder needs, and changing business demands.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to adapt to change, foster collaboration, and build effective partnerships across teams.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
  • Experience supporting Retail Wealth Management organizations.
  • Knowledge of advisor technology platforms and advisor-facing solutions.
  • Experience working with wealth management data, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise data products and data-driven solutions.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring junior product professionals.
  • Advanced understanding of data strategy, analytics, and business value realization.
  • Financial services industry experience, particularly within wealth management or investment services.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and influencing senior leadership decisions.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that’s fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$100,070 - $157,470 USD
