Senior Data Scientist - Product

The Data Science & Machine Learning team is looking for a Senior Data Scientist. We are a group of data scientists and machine learning engineers who solve challenges with durable data solutions. We develop and integrate data science models into company practices and the product to unlock value for Squarespace and its customers.

You will be on the Product Data Science & Machine Learning team. Our team builds machine learning models that achieve business growth by enhancing the product experience. You will focus on creating growth and activation by building models that create personalized user experiences, drive intelligent product recommendations, and enhance the performance of data-driven product features.

This is a hybrid role working from our NYC office 3 days per week. You will report to the Manager of Product Data Science & Machine Learning.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Product Managers and Engineers to identify opportunities and create data science solutions
• Prototype different approaches to identify the best data solutions for business problems
• Design, deploy, and maintain statistical and machine-learning models in business- and customer-facing applications; for example, personalized onboarding, dynamic cross-sell targeting, and customer-intent predictions
• Validate and improve model performance through iterative testing, tuning, and feature engineering
• Research advancements in data science and machine learning to evaluate new techniques and technologies for potential application

• 4+ years of experience working in a Data Science or similar role; experience working directly with PMs in a Product Data Science role is a plus
• Experience building and deploying ML models in a production environment, particularly for personalization, recommendations, and predictive use cases
• Competency with Python and SQL
• Strong experience communicating data science solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors. 

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
