We’re looking for a seasoned Design Manager to help lead and scale the Product Design function at GLG. This is a player-coach role, guiding a team of Senior UX Designers working across complex, business-critical platforms, while contributing directly to high-impact design work.

You’ll be a core operational partner to the Head of Design, ensuring delivery excellence, team health, and executional clarity across the organization. This role is ideal for a design leader who can flex between critique and craft, unblock teams, and support great designers in doing the best work of their careers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the design team, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Coach and mentor a team of senior UX designers, providing feedback, growth support, and performance guidance.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to drive execution at the squad level, ensuring alignment, feasibility, and quality.
  • Be hands-on when needed, contributing to critical design efforts, facilitating working sessions, and helping solve high-stakes UX challenges (30–40% IC time expected).
  • Facilitate design rituals, critiques, standups, async reviews that raise team quality, velocity, and cohesion.
  • Collaborate on design system adoption and governance, ensuring consistency and scale across experiences.
  • Act as the first line point of escalation for delivery blockers, triad alignment issues, or UX quality risks.
  • Partner with the Head of Design on team structure, hiring signals, and design maturity growth.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of UX/Product Design experience, including 2+ years leading designers (officially or unofficially)
  • Experience operating in multi-stream product environments or B2B/enterprise UX teams
  • Strong command of Figma, design systems, interaction design, and design for web and mobile platforms
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to guide teams through ambiguity and connect design to product outcomes
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design, UX principles, and accessibility best practices
  • Track record of unblocking teams, improving design output, and fostering growth in others
  • Thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional environments and knows how to balance vision with iteration
  • Experience with Agile, Lean UX, or continuous discovery is a plus
  • A portfolio and team leadership story that reflects your impact on design quality, clarity, and team health

What We Offer:

Benefits: All U.S. GLGers also have access to benefits such as:

  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage effective on your first day of employment

  • Other work perks and benefits available based on final job location

Compensation: GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
