Senior Director of Brand & Communications

Precision Neuroscience is developing the highest- resolution brain-computer interface (BCI) ever created.  A minimally invasive, non-damaging cortical surface array designed to restore communication and independence for people with neurological conditions. Our technology is designed to enable people with paralysis to control digital devices, such as computers and smartphones, through their thoughts alone, opening new possibilities for daily life and connection.

Precision’s multidisciplinary team brings together leading experts in diverse fields such as neurosurgery, artificial intelligence, machine learning, microfabrication, electrical engineering, and more. We are committed to turning breakthrough scientific advancements into real-world solutions for people affected by conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, and ALS.

As a Precision employee, you will be joining one of the fastest moving and best-capitalized companies in the emerging field of BCI. Since our founding in 2021, Precision has secured over $180 million in funding, developed and validated our technology, and initiated human trials in collaboration with some of the nation’s top hospitals.

We are seeking a Senior Director of Brand & Communications to lead and execute strategic communications efforts, helping to shape Precisions Neuroscience’s public presence and positioning.

In this role you will be instrumental in driving internal and external messaging, media relations, content creation, and executive communications to support our growth and industry leadership.

This position will be based in our New York City office. We are unable to consider remote workers or people not currently based in the United States, with working rights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated PR and media strategy to enhance brand visibility (in partnership with Marketing)

  • Oversight and management of Precision’s relationship with external PR firm and branding agency

  • Build and manage relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key industry influencers.

  • Develop internal communication materials and initiatives, including: staff orientation and training materials, written company history, internal communication policies, executive updates.

  • Craft clear and consistent internal messaging regarding company news, strategy updates, policy changes, and cultural initiatives.

  • Work closely with Executive Leadership to craft Precision’s brand image, messaging, and determine the best methods and strategies for communicating with key audiences

  • Craft compelling blog posts, op-eds, white papers, and articles to highlight Precision’s technology and leadership.

  • Oversight of all multimedia content including website, videos, podcasts, and social media as well as photo and videos shoots involving Precision team members to ensure results are consistent with Precision’s brand.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 8–12 years of progressive communications, brand, or marketing leadership experience

  • At least 3 years in a tech company (not agency-only), ideally at a Series C, pre-IPO, or IPO stage company during a period of rapid growth or repositioning

  • Demonstrated experience building a communications function from early-stage (not just inheriting an existing team and infrastructure)

  • Proven ability to translate technical subject matter into compelling, accessible narratives for non-technical audiences

  • Strong editorial instinct and the ability to write at a high level — this person should be a better writer than most of the people they manage

  • Experience managing brand and PR agencies effectively

  • Track record of meaningfully growing social media presence and content output for a B2B or deep-tech brand

Diverse workforces create the best culture, company, and products. We at Precision are committed to an inclusive culture that celebrates the uniqueness and contributions of everyone. As an equal opportunity employer, Precision does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
