About the Role

Sitting within the Creative Strategy organization and reporting directly to the VP of Creative Strategy, the Senior Director of Brand Strategy & GTM leads Verizon’s most ambitious, enterprise-wide brand initiatives.

This role sits at the intersection of cultural strategy, world-class creative craft, and flawless operational execution. You will turn sharp cultural insights into compelling creative work while keeping the business connected to real-time performance and optimizations. In addition to driving external consumer initiatives, you will oversee Employer Brand, translating our core brand identity internally to position Verizon as a premier destination for top-tier talent.

A natural galvanizer, you will bring clarity to complex matrixed environments, rally executives behind a bold vision, and cultivate high-stakes partnerships across sports, music, and pop culture.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Enterprise Brand Architecture & Strategy: Set the vision and strategic direction for high-visibility brand initiatives across the entire Verizon ecosystem, ensuring a unified brand voice that resonates with consumers, business partners, and employees alike.
  • Transform Strategy into Industry-Leading Creative: Translate complex business objectives into emotionally resonant, culturally connected advertising campaigns. You’ll champion bold creative ideas from early concepting through production, ensuring the work maintains an uncompromising bar for quality.
  • Champion Employer Brand & Talent Attraction: Oversee the strategic positioning of Verizon’s internal brand. Develop compelling, creative-led candidate and employee engagement campaigns that elevate Verizon’s reputation as an employer of choice to attract, retain, and inspire elite talent.
  • Master Flawless Go-To-Market Execution: Own end-to-end launch mechanics across 360-degree channels, including digital, social, retail, PR, experiential, and internal platforms ensuring large-scale, multi-million dollar campaigns land with operational precision, on time and on budget.
  • Galvanize Leaders & Build Alignment: Act as a trusted strategic connector for the Chief Marketing Officer and executive leadership team. You will navigate complex stakeholder landscapes to build conviction, resolve friction, and align diverse business units around a single, cohesive campaign vision.
  • Cultivate High-Stakes External Partnerships: Build and manage strategic relationships with major partners across sports, music, entertainment, and agency networks. You will maximize the value of tentpole sponsorships by integrating emerging creators and cultural figures directly into our brand story.
  • Connect Performance, ROI & Continuous Optimization: Partner with analytics and media teams to design robust measurement frameworks. You will continuously track campaign performance, translate data into actionable story-lines for executives, and apply real-time creative optimizations to maximize business impact.
  • Lead, Inspire & Mentor: Nurture a high-performing team of strategists and marketers. You will foster an environment built on creative ambition, accountability, and empathy, empowering your team to push creative boundaries while staying rooted in business objectives.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in brand strategy, creative direction, or integrated marketing within a top-tier creative agency, culture-driven brand, or media organization.
  • 8+ years managing high-visibility, large-scale partnership activations (sports, music, entertainment, or major cultural tentpoles).
  • Cross-Functional Visionary: Demonstrated ability to bridge external marketing campaigns with internal employer branding to build a holistic, 360-degree brand narrative.
  • Executive Presence & Storytelling: Masterful communicator capable of synthesizing complex strategies into crisp, persuasive narratives that inspire senior executives and cross-functional partners.
  • Operational Excellence: Rigorous project management discipline with a proven track record of steering complex, multi-channel initiatives through intricate corporate environments without losing momentum or craft.
  • Relationship & Talent Management: A collaborative leader who builds authentic trust across internal units and external creative partners, with a passion for mentoring rising talent.

Even Better If You Have

  • Experience working inside a fast-paced, matrixed creative org where speed and high-level craft coexist.
  • Deep intuition for emerging cultural shifts, digital formats, and evolving social platforms.
  • A background in employee value proposition (EVP) development or internal culture-building campaigns.
