The Senior Director of Global Stadium Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for stadium and major event security across all NFL domestic and international activities. This role oversees International Security Directors supporting NFL International Series Games and leads league-wide stadium and special-event security operations to ensure coordinated, intelligence-driven protection of people, assets, and the NFL brand.

The Senior Director leads multidisciplinary teams; establishes and enforces security, fan conduct, and fair-competition best practices; and ensures consistent compliance with NFL Security policies, SAFETY Act requirements, and investigative standards. This position manages key contract security relationships and designs, implements, and oversees security and investigative programs that safeguard the NFL’s most critical assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise International Security Directors responsible for investigations, game security, and stadium operations.
  • Direct the implementation of league-wide best practices for stadium security, fan conduct, and fair-competition initiatives to promote public safety and confidence.
  • Lead security planning and execution for major NFL events, including the Super Bowl, NFL Draft, and International Series Games, in coordination with clubs, venues, and external partners.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence partners.
  • Ensure compliance with NFL Security policies and standards, including SAFETY Act requirements, stadium security procedures, emergency preparedness, and crisis-response protocols.
  • Lead threat assessment and intelligence efforts, including analysis of public records, social media, and law enforcement intelligence.
  • Deliver executive-level security briefings and risk assessments to NFL leadership, club ownership, and senior security stakeholders.
  • Manage and evaluate contract security providers to ensure performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in law enforcement or a related security field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of stadium or large-venue security experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, multidisciplinary security teams.
  • Ability to successfully complete a rigorous background investigation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Juris Doctor).
  • Experience in international security planning for large-scale events.
  • Background in dignitary protection, intelligence operations, counterterrorism, or protective services.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods during NFL games, stadium operations, and major events.

Travel Requirements

  • Significant domestic and international travel, estimated at 50–60% of the working year.
  • Travel includes weekends and extended periods away from home during event planning and execution.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and locations while maintaining leadership presence.

Work Schedule and Classification

  • Full-time position.
  • FLSA Exempt.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek, with additional hours required based on operational and event needs.
  • The NFL operates on a five-day, in-office schedule when not traveling. Onsite presence is required; remote or hybrid work options are not available.
  • Position based in the New York office.

Compensation

  • This role includes a posted salary range representing the NFL’s good-faith estimate for the position in the specified location. The NFL typically hires near the midpoint of the range, with higher compensation considered only in rare and exceptional circumstances based on significantly exceeding role requirements.
