SoundCloud empowers artists, tastemakers and fans to connect and share through music. Founded in 2007, SoundCloud is a creator-first platform helping artists build and grow their careers by providing them with the most advanced tools, services, and resources. With over 4x the music catalog of every other major streaming platform, spanning 40+ million artists across 190+ countries, SoundCloud is where emerging artists find their sound, hidden gems are discovered, and music culture is shaped in real time.

We're looking for a Senior Director, Product Marketing & Market Intelligence to lead a modern product marketing organization and help us see those opportunities first. You'll own how SoundCloud understands its market and turns that understanding into product and growth decisions. This is not a traditional product marketing role: you'll build SoundCloud's market and audience intelligence from the ground up, shape product and monetization strategy, and serve as the voice of creators and fans inside the company.

Reporting to the Chief Growth & Marketing Officer, you'll build and lead a team of Product Marketers and act as the strategic bridge across Product, Marketing, Community, Partnerships, and Executive Leadership.

In your first year, you'll build the engine that helps SoundCloud truly understand its audiences — the jobs-to-be-done frameworks, audience intelligence, and Voice-of-Customer programs that become the foundation for everything Product Marketing does, from strategy to positioning to launch. Success looks like a PMM organization that consistently influences product and business decisions — and becomes a durable source of strategic advantage for SoundCloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shape product and business strategy as a strategic partner to leadership, including recommendations on consumer narratives, packaging, and monetization, some of the highest-leverage decisions at the company
  • Define positioning across creator, fan, AI, subscription, and monetization experiences, in close partnership with Brand, Creative, and Communications
  • Lead go-to-market strategy for major launches, defining audiences, positioning, and launch tiers, and owning the awareness-to-adoption-to-retention metrics that define success; own GTM strategy, positioning, and audience definition, partnering with marketing teams on channel orchestration and execution
  • Build SoundCloud's market and audience intelligence function — tracking trends and competitive moves across music, AI, and the creator economy, and turning them into executive briefings, forecasts, competitive intelligence, and opportunity calls that sharpen how we compete
  • Own creator and fan insight, drive audience segmentation and sizing, build always-on feedback loops, partner with Community on creator councils and advisory panels, and translate what you learn into recommendations Product and Business act on
  • Build and develop a high-performing PMM organization, establishing a modern operating model and raising the strategic influence of the function across the company

Experience and Background:

  • 10+ years across product marketing, product or growth strategy, or consumer, marketplace, and platform businesses
  • A track record of leading product marketing teams and influencing product strategy, not just supporting launches
  • Deep experience with market and audience research and competitive analysis — and a habit of turning it into data-backed decisions.
  • Deep understanding of consumer products, marketplaces, creator platforms, subscriptions, or social ecosystems
  • Exceptional storytelling and executive presence across complex, cross-functional organizations
  • Relentless curiosity about people, markets, and culture, with a real passion for music and creators

The salary range for this role is $210,000 - $260,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!

About us:
  • We are a multinational company with offices in the US (New York and Los Angeles), Germany (Berlin), and the UK (London)
  • We provide a flexible work culture that offers the opportunity to collaborate and connect in person at our offices as well as accommodating work from home
  • We are deeply committed to ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion at all levels of our organization and fostering a community where everyone’s voice, perspective and experience is respected and heard
  • We believe a strong team is made by investing in employees through mentorship, workshops and enrichment opportunities
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, as well as mental health resources
  • Robust 401k program
  • Employee Equity Plan
  • Generous professional development allowance
  • Interested in a gym membership, photography course or book? We have a Creativity and Wellness benefit!
  • Flexible vacation and public holiday policy where you can take up to 35 days of PTO annually
  • 16 paid weeks for all parents (birthing and non-birthing), regardless of gender, to welcome newborns, adopted and foster children
  • Various snacks, goodies, and 2 free lunches weekly when at the office
