Wealth Mgmt Strategy
The Wealth Management Strategy team (WM Strategy) partners with senior Wealth leadership as a trusted advisor to solve their most critical strategic and operating model issues. The team follows a hypothesis driven, fact-based approach to problem solving. The opportunity to solve critical business problems, coupled with the team's diversity of perspectives and background distinguishes the WM Strategy team from other areas of the firm. Senior Directors on the WM Strategy team are instrumental in driving projects forward, responsible for overall project execution, review of analyses completed by junior team members, and development of comprehensive presentations related to strategic planning, business improvement, and other internal consulting initiatives. This job collaborates closely with the Head of Strategy and MDs on the team to determine the direction while also actively managing junior team members in conducting analysis and research. The job partners extensively with colleagues across Wealth including distribution, product, finance, risk, operations and technology. The Senior Director is expected to craft and present recommendations to senior leadership and have significant exposure to and interaction with senior management.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Own day-to-day management of project and delivery of entire engagement
  • Scope problems, identify major issues and actionable opportunities, design solutions, and quantify potential bottom-line financial impact
  • Work with team to develop workplan to test / evaluate strategies and insights which could span strategy, process or organizational change
  • Provides advanced expertise to engagement teams in leading the identification, understanding and framing of complex business problems and needs
  • Review synthesized findings and recommendations, and oversee creation of senior management documents to present recommendations (inclusive of presentations for Executive Committee and Board members)
  • Advise and influence senior leaders on key decisions and major change initiatives
  • Develop deep trust-based relationships with key client stakeholders and ensure client is satisfied throughout engagement
  • Lead interview campaigns, working sessions and senior client presentations; maintain composure and presence in difficult client meetings
  • Lead one or more client projects, including managing multiple juniors across several workstreams
  • Collaborate with the team to develop hypotheses, conduct analysis and develop roadmaps for solutions
  • Manages performance of junior team through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional products and engagement, motivation, and development of team
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Work Experience
  • 8+ Years Required; 10+ Years Preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in Strategic Consulting, Internal or External

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in consulting with a top-tier management consulting firm or internal consulting / corporate strategy team, or equivalent experience in the Wealth Management Industry

  • Managerial experience motivating and leading teams

  • Ability to provide structure to ambiguous situations and apply analytical tools to develop solutions

  • Strong client management and executive-level communication skills

  • MBA or advanced degree from top-tier program

  • Financial services background preferred

Base Pay Range: $192,000/yr - $269,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
