Role OverviewThe Senior Editor position is a senior editorial operator responsible for executing and evolving production workflows across all content lanes, ensuring top quality output. This role focuses primarily on drafting, editing, adaptation, production, and publishing with assistance from new technologies, while maintaining editorial standards and scope discipline. In addition this role will support our work with freelancers for campaign-funded projects that may require external assignments and will include some community-focused content projects.
Reporting to the Executive Editor, this role helps translate strategy into daily execution and ensures that content production is fast, consistent, and scalable.
Core Responsibilities- Use data and analytics tools, our CMS, and evolving technologies to draft, edit, adapt, and QA content across editorial, branded, and community formats.
- Translate editorial standards into prompts, templates, formats, and automated checks with an eye toward efficiency.
- Own end-to-end production and publishing for assigned content, including CMS and newsletter tools
- Coordinate with Content Ops to keep work moving on schedule and within scope.
- Maintain consistency across formats, franchises, and reuse surfaces.
- Work closely with Product, Operations, Membership, and Sales to align content execution with platform and revenue goals.
- Support integration of creator and community-generated content into editorial systems.
- 5+ years experience as a news editor or producer
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, juggling various projects and deadlines
- Strong communication and interviewing skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with new technologies, including AI-assisted tools
- A teamwork mentality, flexibility, and a proven ability to consistently work well with others
