The Opportunity

We're building the category-defining platform for community association management: 6M+ doors, 100% YoY growth, and an AI product that went from $0 to millions in revenue in months. We're not running a legacy modernization program. We're revolutionizing the industry with AI, building what it will run on for the next decade.

We're expanding our engineering hubs in Raleigh-Durham and Wilmington and looking for Senior Engineers who have mastered the craft of building high-performant applications and are energized by AI and the reality that AI agents are transforming how entire industries operate.

What You'll Own

This role sits at the core of our platform engineering, building the systems that make Vantaca dependable at scale.

Platform & Agent Systems

  • Build and operate the backend systems powering AI agents in production: tool execution, state management, orchestration, retries, idempotency, and rate limiting
  • Design robust, agent friendly APIs as interfaces for internal and external consumers
  • Model complex domain data — agent memory/state, workflow history, audit trails, permissions, multi-tenant isolation
  • Implement high-quality integrations (OAuth, webhooks, sync engines, connectors) with strong observability and failure handling
  • Define SLIs/SLOs, implement end-to-end tracing, build circuit breakers and cost guardrails for agent workloads
  • Optimize throughput, latency, queue backlogs, caching, and storage as the platform scales
  • Drive engineering standards: code quality, testing strategy, on-call hygiene, runbooks, and postmortems

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of engineering experience building high-performant applications
  • Deep fundamentals: distributed systems, concurrency, queuing/workers, caching, production operations
  • Strong relational data modeling: Postgres or SQL Server, migrations, indexing, query optimization, correctness at scale
  • API design discipline — clear, evolvable contracts across services and external partners
  • Polyglot experience with TypeScript, Python, or equivalent cloud-native tooling
  • LLM orchestration experience: prompting, tool calling, evals, latency/cost tradeoffs
  • Agent architecture familiarity: orchestration patterns, planning/execution loops, memory/state, sandboxed tool execution
  • Experience with message-based architectures or equivalent event-driven patterns
