As a member of the Platform leadership team, you'll approach infrastructure like a product — understanding the needs of your internal customers and the business, shaping a roadmap that balances reliability, velocity, and cost, investing in the engineers behind the work, and staying close enough to the details to be credible in design reviews and on-call rotations.
Responsibilities
Cloud Foundations team leadership – roadmap, strategy, and execution. Driving measurable outcomes quarter to quarter.
Shape Hinge's platform-level infrastructure strategy, partnering with other leads on cross-pillar dependencies and tradeoffs.
Lead cloud infrastructure initiatives focused on reliability, scalability, security, and cost management.
Build tools and automation that make our systems more consistent, observable, and self-service.
Partner with product engineering teams to improve developer velocity and experience.
Contribute to code reviews, architecture discussions, and platform documentation.
Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, inclusion, and autonomy grounded in clarity and trust.
What We're Looking For
8+ years in software engineering, including 4+ years in management.
Deep technical background in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and distributed systems, basic comfort with developer platforms.
Proven success leading reliability, automation, and cost-efficiency efforts at scale.
Comfort operating at both team-level (hands-on technical leadership, direct people management) and platform-level (cross-team strategy, cross-pillar partnership).
Strong communication and collaboration skills; thrives in cross-functional environments.
Passion for developer experience and building tools that make engineers more productive.
Experience operating Kubernetes at scale.
Background in modern IaC
Familiarity with cost management at scale.
Prior strategic / architect / staff-engineer-shape role bridging team execution and broader platform strategy.
