Job Description

The Senior ETF Sales Lead is responsible for driving growth and market penetration of U.S. Bank’s ETF servicing capabilities across asset managers, sponsors, and intermediaries. This role will lead go-to-market strategy, originating new business opportunities and deepening existing client relationships within the ETF ecosystem.

This individual will partner closely with Product, Relationship Management, Client Coverage, and Operations to position U.S. Bank as a leading provider of ETF solutions, ensuring alignment across custody, fund administration, and ancillary services. The role is critical to advancing a more coordinated, client-centric approach to ETF growth, improving competitive positioning, and expanding share in a rapidly evolving market.

Essential Functions

Drive ETF Business Growth

  • Develop and execute a targeted business development strategy to grow ETF servicing mandates across asset managers and sponsors

  • Identify and originate new client opportunities, expanding U.S. Bank’s presence across core and emerging ETF segments

Lead Strategic Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with ETF issuers, asset managers, and key market participants

  • Partner with Relationship Managers and Coverage teams to deepen client engagement and expand wallet share

Enhance Go-to-Market Coordination

  • Drive alignment across Client Coverage and Product teams to ensure clear market positioning and minimize overlap

  • Promote a unified and cohesive client strategy across custody, fund administration, and ETF servicing capabilities

Position Competitive Capabilities

  • Partner with Product leadership to refine and articulate U.S. Bank’s ETF value proposition

  • Provide market feedback to inform product development, innovation, and service enhancements

Deliver Market Intelligence

  • Maintain deep understanding of ETF market trends, competitor positioning, and client needs

  • Translate insights into actionable strategies to strengthen competitiveness and client retention

Support Cross-Sell and Platform Expansion

  • Identify opportunities to bundle services (e.g., custody, accounting, performance) to create differentiated client solutions

  • Drive increased penetration of existing clients through broader service adoption

Promote Accountability and Execution Discipline

  • Establish clear sales priorities, pipeline management, and performance tracking

  • Ensure disciplined execution aligned to growth targets and strategic objectives

Specifications
  • This senior-level role operates with a high degree of autonomy and influence, requiring strong strategic thinking, market expertise, and executive-level client engagement skills. The position plays a key role in shaping ETF growth strategy and contributing to broader Global Investment Services objectives.

This is a general description which covers all levels/grades of the job. Level/grade assignments are determined by the attached leveling guidelines. Minimum qualifications are outlined below:

  • Demonstrated ability to originate and close complex institutional business

  • Strong understanding of ETF structures, servicing models, and ecosystem participants

  • Proven ability to navigate matrixed organizations and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders

  • Strong executive presence and influencing capabilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on ETFs, asset servicing, or institutional sales

  • Proven track record of successful business development and revenue generation

  • Strong knowledge of custody, fund administration, and ETF servicing functions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Deep expertise in ETF markets, including product structures, regulatory landscape, and distribution channels

  • Existing industry relationships with ETF sponsors and asset managers

  • Experience working across global markets and complex operating models

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or relevant industry certifications

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $194,225.00 - $228,500.00
