Position Responsibilities:
- Produces or procures the technical designs for modifications to electrical utility systems including 480V & 120V distribution, medium voltage distribution, interior and exterior lighting, building controls, security systems, communication devices, generators, UPSs, and VFDs.
- Develops the technical requirements for the estimate, design, procurement, construction, maintenance, and operation of the above systems/equipment.
- Plans, specifies, designs, and manages projects.
- Supports maintenance and improves the reliability of assets.
- Interfaces with company organizations, customers, and suppliers to meet company business requirements.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Skilled in knowledge of NFPA 70 - National Electric Code and NFPA 70E - Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace.
- Preferred 5 years' Facilities experience in a heavy industrial plant, or design firm focused on manufacturing facilities.
- Interface with Operations, Maintenance and Construction personnel.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Computer skills including proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint).
- Experience in designing power to installations of mechanical equipment such as HVAC, steam and heating water boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, nitrogen generation systems, and machine shop production equipment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Preparing cost estimates and/or appropriations requests for capital projects
- Experience and training in the ASHRAE BCxP commissioning process.
- Skilled in use of SKM and/or ETAP software, arc flash calculations, mitigation strategies, and coordination studies.
- Knowledge of IESNA standards and lighting calculations.
- Design of ICD/ICS 705 spaces training and experience.
- Familiarity with industrial control systems from hardwired relay logic to PLCs.
- Knowledge of CSI electrical specifications.
- Understanding and diagnosis of Power Quality issues.
- Calculation of energy consumption and knowledge of means to reduce power consumption.
