Role Overview

As a Senior Financial Advisor for Masterworks Advisers, you will be responsible for building trusted relationships with UHNW prospective clients who visit our art gallery in-person.  You will meet around ~50 prospects per day in-person, at evening art events with multi-million dollar paintings by artists like Banksy and Basquiat, and educate them on the benefits of investing in art. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend evening gallery events at 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm M-F to meet UHNW clients that our marketing team has invited to the gallery
  • Advise UHNW clients on how to begin investing in art based on active investment opportunities on the Masterworks platform
  • After meeting clients at the gallery, follow-up with them via phone or in-person breakfasts or lunches, or at events

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in financial advising, private banking, or alternative investments, or similar relationship-driven roles.
  • Proven track record of building new relationships and managing long-term relationships with UHNW and HNW clients
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction and alternative asset allocation
  • Exceptional in-person interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust and credibility with sophisticated investors
  • Results-driven, competitive mentality with demonstrated ability to close business
  • Comfort operating in high-touch, relationship-driven environments
  • Based in NYC and willing to work 11am - 7pm M-F at our gallery on the Upper East Side
  • Series 65 license from FINRA (or ability to obtain)

Preferred

  • Experience with alternative investments (art, private equity, real assets, or hedge funds)
  • Strong interest in contemporary art and cultural markets
  • CFP, CFA, or similar credentials (not required)

Compensation: $300k - $800k (base salary + commission)
