Job Description:

Datasite is seeking a full-time Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), Commercial Operations to accelerate the development, deployment, and adoption of AI-enabled tools, automations, and technical solutions across our Global Sales organization, including Revenue Enablement and Revenue Operations.

As part of Datasite's Transformation Office, this role will be dedicated to supporting the Sales organization, working directly with commercial stakeholders to understand their workflows, identifying high-impact opportunities, and building practical, scalable solutions that improve seller effectiveness, productivity, and business outcomes.

The FDE will collaborate closely with Transformation Business Analysts, program management, and technical partners to translate high-value commercial opportunities into scalable, production-ready solutions.

This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and business. Success requires the ability to move quickly from ambiguous business challenges to working solutions, balancing speed, quality, scalability, and measurable impact.

We are open to hiring this position in NYC or Minneapolis. This is a hybrid position with 3 days per week in office.

Key responsibilities

  • Embed within the global Sales organization, developing a deep understanding of commercial workflows and partnering with stakeholders and the Transformation Office to evaluate opportunities, validate technical feasibility, and define practical technical solutions.
  • Design, build, integrate, test, and deploy production-ready AI applications, agents, automations, and workflow solutions, owning technical delivery from prototyping through deployment and iteration with an emphasis on speed to market, scalability, and measurable business impact.
  • Develop reusable engineering patterns, components, and delivery practices that accelerate future deployments, prioritizing rapid value realization over unnecessary technical complexity while balancing speed, quality, and scalability.
  • Partner with relevant technology, data, security, and governance teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise requirements for reliability, security, supportability, and global deployment.
  • Partner with commercial stakeholders and enablement teams to drive solution adoption through intuitive user experiences, training, documentation, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement informed by user feedback.
  • Collaborate with Transformation Business Analysts and commercial stakeholders to measure solution performance, adoption, and business impact against established objectives, while communicating technical progress, risks, and opportunities for continued improvement.

Experience and ways of working

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, technical consulting, solutions engineering, software implementation, or related technical roles, with demonstrated success building and deploying production-ready software, automations, AI-enabled products, or enterprise solutions.
  • Strong ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders, understand their workflows, and convert business needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Commercial curiosity and the ability to develop a strong understandig of sales, enablement, and revenue operations processes.
  • Experience taking solutions from prototype to production, including technical design, integration, testing, documentation, release management, and post-launch support.
  • Comfort working across product, engineering, data, security, and operational teams in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand business objectives, measure solution performance and outcomes, and communicate value clearly.
  • A collaborative, iterative mindset: build with users, learn quickly, and scale what demonstrably works.

Measures of success

Success will be measured through:

  • Demonstrable ROI through increased sales and revenue growth, enabled by greater selling capacity, improved productivity, time savings, and cost avoidance.
  • Adoption, active usage, and sustained engagement with deployed solutions.
  • Reduction in manual effort, process cycle time, rework, or avoidable errors.
  • Improvements in seller productivity, process quality, and commercial or operational outcomes where attributable.
  • Speed and quality of delivery from validated opportunity to production deployment.
  • A growing, well-governed portfolio of globally reusable solutions with clear ownership, documentation, and performance reporting.
