We are looking for a dynamic individual to lead the design of Incentive Compensation programs across all areas of Affirm’s business. This role will own and maintain a design process that delivers effective incentive compensation programs. The ideal candidate will draw on deep experience in incentive plan design to create plans that are clear, motivational, and that drive the right behaviors to serve our customers and merchants, deliver on key business goals and support our pay for performance culture. This role sits in Total Rewards. 

What You’ll Do

  • Support Affirm business priorities, values, and culture by leading the design of Affirm’s incentive compensation programs.
  • Own and maintain the annual incentive design process, including process requirements, documentation, and governance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across Business leadership, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, and People to understand their needs, solve business challenges, and ensure successful design and deployment of incentive compensation programs.
  • Serve as a thought leader in incentive plan design and provide guidance, direction and recommendations to Business leaders on best practices in design, caring for the needs of the business while appropriately managing risk.
  • Lead, manage and streamline all elements of the design of our incentive compensation programs.
  • Analyze trends, research best practices, monitor economic conditions, maintain awareness of local legal/regulatory requirements and make recommendations for program revisions and development.
  • Lead the development and creation of incentive plan communications, documents and roll-out materials to ensure that leaders and employees have a solid understanding of plan design, mechanics and administration; ensure communications are well planned and effectively implemented.
  • Partner with our Revenue Operations and Finance teams on recommendations regarding ongoing plan management matters. Provide guidance to plan administrators to ensure actions are consistent with plan terms and across plan participants.

What We Look For

  • 10+ years experience, with at least 7+ years in Compensation.
  • 2+ years experience with incentive compensation design in a fintech or financial organization.
  • Proven, highly-successful experience collaborating with Senior Leadership in the Business, Finance, Legal and People functions.
  • Progressive experience with increasing levels of responsibility in identifying, consulting, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions.
  • Deep subject matter expertise, including trends, thought leadership and practical hands-on design work.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively from philosophy through to execution.
  • Highly skilled at analytics (advanced Excel skills at minimum), data visualization, planning, process efficiency, organization, critical thinking, and delegation.
  • Excellent business acumen and judgment; strong team orientation with collaborative style; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information.

Pay Grade - O
Equity Grade - 10
Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $205,000 - $255,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $182,000 - $232,000
