About the Role

The Senior Manager, External Communications will be responsible for executing external communications and storytelling that shapes how the brand shows up across media, culture, and the broader wellness conversation.

Reporting to the Head of PR & External Communications, this role will manage the execution of external communications strategies that drive brand relevance, earned visibility, consumer messaging and media opportunities that drive cultural relevance and audience engagement. This position will work closely with marketing, brand, partnerships, and talent teams to amplify the brand’s voice and help maintain a steady drumbeat of earned storytelling.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller and strategic communicator with experience translating brand moments, partnerships, campaigns, company initiatives and business priorities into compelling narratives that resonate with consumers and media alike.

Key Responsibilities

External Storytelling & Brand Narrative

  • Manage day-to-day consumer-facing communications and storytelling across media and public channels
  • Develop and amplify the brand narrative across consumer press, lifestyle outlets, emerging media and cultural platforms
  • Translate brand strategy, campaigns, and partnerships into impactful consumer storytelling opportunities

Consumer PR Strategy

  • Support and execute consumer PR initiatives that drive awareness and engagement
  • Manage consumer media outreach, story development, and press opportunities
  • Identify culturally relevant moments and media opportunities that position the brand within wellness, health, and lifestyle conversations

Brand Communications

  • Develop messaging that connects the brand to consumers in a clear, compelling, and culturally relevant way
  • Ensure consistency of brand narrative across media opportunities, partnerships, and brand moments
  • Partner closely with brand, marketing, partnerships, and talent teams to support campaigns and launches

Media & Cultural Relevance

  • Build and maintain relationships with key consumer, business, lifestyle, and wellness media
  • Identify opportunities to place the brand in relevant cultural conversations
  • Support press strategy for partnerships, events, and brand activations

Agency Management & Execution

  • Support management of external PR agencies and help guide day-to-day priorities
  • Collaborate closely with agency teams to drive consumer coverage and storytelling opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with marketing, brand, partnerships, and talent teams to ensure consumer communications supports broader company initiatives
  • Work closely with the Head of PR & External Communications to align consumer messaging with the broader corporate narrative and company priorities
Qualifications
  • 8+ years experience in public relations, external and consumer communications, or brand storytelling
  • Strong background in consumer PR, lifestyle media, and brand communications
  • Proven ability to generate impactful media coverage and culturally relevant storytelling opportunities
  • Exceptional verbal, writing, messaging, and storytelling skills
  • Experience partnering closely with marketing, brand, partnerships, and social teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strategic thinker combined with hands-on execution and attention to detail
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility environments

Base salary may vary depending on, but not limited to: skills, experience, and location.  This role is also eligible for a comprehensive benefits package and annual bonus program.

US Pay Range
$130,000$145,000 USD
