Even as we grow, we take extra care to maintain the small, scrappy, entrepreneurial culture that helped to get us where we are today: a company that people like more, that better serves its customers, employees, and community. Mammoth Brands is committed to making a positive impact and donated over $20 million through our network of nonprofit partners to date.
About the role
The Senior Manager, People Operations role is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about building and managing innovative and meaningful benefits that support our people. You will also own our immigration and leave of absence programs, maintaining a seamless and positive experience for our employees. You will also keep a pulse on the legislative landscape, and build employee centric policies that ensure we remain compliant across all geographies. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in M&A, evaluating and finding the best solutions for integrating acquired brands onto our benefits and key policies.
What you will accomplish
- Manage US, UK and Canadian benefit plans, ensuring we’re providing thoughtful benefits that support our team's unique needs in each geography. As part of this, you will lead a strategic and sustainable annual renewal process, gathering employee feedback, evaluating provider performance, ROI and costs, and partnering with our brokers to identify opportunities for improvement. You’ll manage the implementation of new benefits, and build effective communications and training that educate our team on how to best leverage our benefits, both at open enrollment and throughout the year. You will also find ways to continue to align our benefits more deeply to our social mission. In addition, you will manage all benefits compliance, including the annual testing processes and applicable filings for health & welfare and global retirement plans.
- Play a key role in M&A related initiatives. Partner with our benefit brokers and legal counsel to evaluate benefit options and compliance for each M&A opportunity. For closed deals, you will take the lead on determining how and when to integrate benefits, key policies, and more.
- Own our benefits enrollment tool, ensuring it is configured to enable a seamless employee enrollment experience. Monitor file feeds, checking that enrollments are sent to all vendors correctly and that benefit deductions are passed to payroll accurately. When system, file or deduction errors happen you will dig in and troubleshoot, getting to the root of the issue and communicating any impact to employees empathetically.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for employees and People Business Partners on global immigration and global leave of absence related matters. Interface with immigration attorneys to ensure filings are completed accurately and timely. Connect with employees on disability, leave of absence and accommodation related questions, ensuring we remain compliant with all federal, state and local laws in all of our locations.
- Stay up to date on the shifting legal landscape as it relates to global policies and benefit programs. Ensure policies remain up to date in all geographies, balancing compliance with an employee centric lens and tone in our global People Guides.
- Launch and manage key tools including a global Whistleblower Hotline, providing support to all employees in all locations. You’ll also launch an Employer of Record, to support individuals providing services in global markets. You’ll dig in to understand any impacts of this change to individuals, create thoughtful communications, and a plan for change management.
- Play a key role in partnering with our Sr. Manager, Payroll in auditing payrolls to ensure accuracy for benefit deductions, retirement contributions and match, leave of absence payments, other ad hoc pay adjustments, and more.
This should describe you
- You have excellent judgment and the ability to think critically. You operate with a high level of autonomy and are solution-oriented, with a track record of solid decision making.
- You’re great at multitasking and work well with fast-changing priorities. You can juggle (not literally but that skill is welcome too!) multiple projects and tasks at the same time without losing focus. You know how to persevere through all challenges and will find a solution, even when an obvious one doesn’t exist.
- You approach problems innovatively and design creative solutions when an obvious one might not exist. You care deeply about the programs and processes you build, ensuring they will work for our team. You think about scalability and process improvement as you make changes.
- You are endlessly reliable, trustworthy, and responsive. Everyone counts on you all of the time, and you always come through. You are a strong and reliable cross-functional partner. You communicate proactively and empathetically.
