Senior Manager, Risk Analytics & Decision Science

You’ll drive results by building and optimizing decisioning frameworks, improving model performance, and uncovering insights that directly influence approval, pricing, and portfolio outcomes.

Your work will directly support our growth by making our credit decisions smarter, faster, and more scalable.

This role reports to the VP of Credit Risk & Analytics.

What Success Looks Like:

Here’s how your time might break down (actual time can shift depending on business needs):

  • Decisioning Frameworks & Analytics – Driving approval strategy, segmentation, and portfolio optimization
  • Model Performance & Optimization – Improving model accuracy and business impact
  • Data Strategy & Vendor Evaluation – Identifying and integrating high-value data sources
  • Cross-Functional Impact – Supporting underwriting, finance, and product with actionable insights

 

How you’ll be measured:

Decisioning Framework Ownership

  • Build and continuously improve credit decisioning frameworks that drive approval strategy, pricing, and portfolio outcomes

Model Performance & Business Impact

  • Evaluate and refine model performance using business KPIs, improving predictive accuracy and decision quality

Cross-Functional Influence

  • Partner with Underwriting, Finance, Product, and Data teams to translate insights into clear, actionable business decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex credit risk problems and drive data-informed decisions
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and influence teams
  • Thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and can prioritize effectively
  • Communicate clearly and can translate technical findings into business recommendations
  • Bring a high level of structure, attention to detail, and ownership
  • Are naturally curious, continuously learning, and motivated to improve systems and outcomes

What You’ve Done Before:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • 5–10 years of experience in credit risk analytics, ideally in small business lending, non-prime, or high-risk environments
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing and developing teams
  • Proven success building or enhancing modern credit decisioning frameworks
  • Demonstrated impact driving business outcomes through analytics

Tools and Expertise You’ll Bring:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel
  • Solid understanding of statistical modeling and performance evaluation techniques
  • Experience working with large datasets and decisioning systems
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and BI tools
  • Strong knowledge of credit underwriting processes, policy, and segmentation strategies

Step 4: Final Interview or Leadership Chat (1 hour)
A final conversation with senior leadership or cross-functional team members to ensure alignment with our mission and values.

Step 5: Offer & Background Check
