Position Summary
Join CVS Health as a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering, leading SAP application delivery and production support for PBM Billing and Finance capabilities. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across SAP ECC and S/4HANA solutions supporting billing, accounts receivable, finance integration, and related payment and reporting processes. The Senior Manager leads technical and functional colleagues, partners closely with business and technology leaders, and is accountable for translating complex business needs into secure, scalable, reliable solutions. The position balances enterprise transformation priorities with the enhancement, stability, controls, and service expectations of business-critical production applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SAP technical and functional colleagues supporting Billing and Finance applications; establish clear priorities, accountability, and development plans.
  • Own delivery and production support for SAP Billing and Finance capabilities, including billing, accounts receivable, customer master data, financial posting, accounts payable processes, interfaces, reporting, and operational controls.
  • Provide leadership for the migration of complex billing and finance processes from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, including discovery, requirements, solution design, build, testing, training, cutover, hypercare, and legacy retirement.
  • Partner with Finance, Billing Operations, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Accounting, Audit, Security, Basis, QA, enterprise architecture, program delivery, and other SAP teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
  • Shape application roadmaps, delivery priorities, estimates, resource plans, and funding needs; balance transformation work, regulatory commitments, production support, and continuous improvement.
  • Guide solution design across SAP SD and FI/CO integration, custom ABAP development, interfaces, batch processing, output and document generation, master data, and downstream reporting dependencies.
  • Ensure technical and functional designs are complete, supportable, and aligned with SAP standards; challenge unnecessary customization and promote simplification, reuse, automation, and long-term maintainability.
  • Oversee the software development life cycle from requirements through deployment, including design reviews, development oversight, test strategy, defect resolution, release readiness, and post-production validation.
  • Maintain reliable production operations by overseeing root-cause analysis, problem management, job and interface monitoring, second level on-call support, service metrics, and timely resolution of business-impacting issues.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX, SOC, HIPAA, security, privacy, change-management, access-control, and audit-evidence requirements across supported applications and delivery processes.
  • Act as an application owner and management contact for technology controls, access reviews, audit walkthroughs, risk assessments, business continuity, and compliance documentation.
  • Manage internal, offshore, contractor, and vendor resources, including candidate selection, onboarding, work assignment, delivery oversight, statements of work, and knowledge transfer.
  • Develop team capability through mentoring, cross-training, documentation, runbooks, technical standards, and deliberate transfer of knowledge from projects into production support.
  • Promote an engineering culture focused on quality, accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and practical use of automation and AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making.
    Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in SAP application delivery, development, configuration, integration, or production support, including leadership of complex enterprise initiatives.
  • Experience leading technical and functional teams, including work prioritization, coaching, performance management, resource planning, and colleague development.
  • Deep experience with SAP Billing, Sales and Distribution, or Finance processes, with demonstrated knowledge of integration between SD and FI/CO.
  • Experience leading projects through requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, cutover, and production stabilization.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, system integration, batch and interface processing, data reconciliation, change management, and production support practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, operational risk, delivery commitments, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading an SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation, Finance modernization, or comparable large-scale migration.
  • Knowledge of SAP Billing, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Controlling, CO-PA, Treasury, Banking, Cash Application, Collections, Dispute Management, or payment processes.
  • Working knowledge of ABAP, SAP Fiori, OData services, HANA, SLT, Central Finance, ArchiveLink or content-server integrations, EDI, and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, statements of work, offshore delivery teams, and augmented resources.
  • Experience supporting SOX or SOC controls, audit evidence, segregation of duties, periodic access reviews, and application security governance.
  • Experience with Agile delivery, portfolio planning, estimation, financial management, operational metrics, and executive-level status reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to streamline personal workflows and incorporate AI capabilities into supported systems and business processes.
    Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
