Job Description:About the Role
The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives supports the development of new revenue-generating initiatives across WSJ as well as efforts to instill an integrated marketing strategy to the user funnel. This role works closely with the Director, WSJ Marketing & Subscription Strategy to shape business cases and ensure alignment across stakeholders as new strategic initiatives move from idea to reality.
You Will:- Support early-stage ideation and prioritization of new subscription verticals, product extensions, and marketplace concepts.
- Collaborate with Consumer Insights to gather and synthesize research that informs business opportunity assessment.
- Conduct light market scans, competitor analysis, and audience profiling to support decision-making.
- Help build initial business cases for new concepts, including audience sizing, value proposition framing, and KPI definition.
- Assist in coordinating pilot launches in partnership with Product, Editorial, and Marketing teams.
- Liaise with cross functional teams to ensure requirements are captured and deliverables are met.
- Help prepare materials for leadership presentations, roadmap reviews, and go/no-go decision points.
- Support cross-functional development and implementation of integrated marketing strategies in partnership with Manager, Go-to-Market
- Develop and maintain structured documentation for each initiative, including briefs, tracking templates, and recaps.
- Contribute to the development of playbooks and repeatable workflows for innovation testing and scaling.
- 10 years of experience in business strategy, product support, or consumer insights.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating across disciplines.
- Analytical mindset with curiosity about new business models and product opportunities.
- Confident writer and presenter who can synthesize inputs into concise outputs.
- Experience in subscriptions, consumer media, or digital products a plus.
