Job Description

Reports To: VP, Learning & Talent Development    Direct Reports: 1-2

The Senior Manager, Talent Development & Operations is an enterprise leader who helps design, evolve, and execute Equinox’s core talent processes (including, but not limited to, Goal Setting, the Annual Performance Review Process, the Talent Assessment Process, Succession Planning, eNPS, and coaching) across both Club (field) and Corporate populations. The role balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution, moving fluidly between building new frameworks and delivering the day-to-day work that brings them to life.

This role operates as a strategic partner to the VP, Learning and Talent Development to drive a culture of development, ensuring we have the right talent processes in place to elevate talent, across the organization, and ensure strong succession pipelines.

Talent Development

  • Own and evolve the organization’s integrated talent development strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and culture.
  • Lead change management for new and evolving talent processes, including process design, rollout planning, and communication to drive adoption across Club and Corporate populations.
  • Partners with VP Learning & Talent Development to develop, enhance, and execute core talent processes such as Goal Setting, Annual Performance Reviews, Succession Planning, Talent Assessment Process, eNPS, coaching for Club and Corporate locations
  • Ensure talent processes are scalable, data-driven, and manager-friendly.
  • Develop and maintain succession plans for critical roles, identifying readiness, risk, and development actions.
  • Partner with leaders to translate talent insights into actionable development and movement plans.
  • Coach senior leaders and managers on talent decisions, development planning, and performance conversations.
  • Support a culture of continuous feedback, growth, and accountability.
  • Collaborate across functions to identify and deliver solutions for talent development needs

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Department Operations & Business Support

  • Partner with the VP, Learning & Talent Development to plan and run quarterly team-wide meetings.
  • Manage the Learning & Talent Development team calendar, including key milestones and deadlines across the talent process cycle.
  • Oversee Equinox's Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content is current, accessible, and effectively supports talent development programs across Club and Corporate populations.
  • Define success metrics for talent and performance programs and use data to inform decisions.
  • Build and maintain dashboards that bring together data across the Learning & Talent ecosystem to demonstrate and communicate impact to leadership.
  • Monitor effectiveness and recommend improvements based on outcomes, feedback, and best practices.
  • Stay current on talent development trends and apply relevant insights to evolve programs.

Leadership, Engagement & Organizational Culture

  • Oversee 1-2 direct reports, establishing scalable systems and processes that allow the team to deliver enterprise-wide impact.
  • Lead through others by developing People & Culture Business Partners to effectively support the execution of key people processes and initiatives.
  • Create frameworks that enable People & Culture Business Partners, managers, and field leaders to drive development of talent, strengthening leadership accountability and a culture where elevating talent is a priority.
  • Partner with People & Culture leadership, Learning & Development, and Communications to ensure talent initiatives reinforce cultural priorities.

Strategic Partnership & Influence

  • Partner cross-functionally with People & Culture Business Partners, Operations, and Executive Leadership.
  • Influence leaders at all levels to ensure compliance with key talent processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors when required.

Confidentiality & Integrity

  • Maintain the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Model unbiased, culturally aware, and high-integrity conduct that builds trust across all employee populations.

Qualifications

 

  • 7-10+ years of progressive HR experience with 5+ years focused Learning and Talent Development.
  • Demonstrated experience strategizing and leading talent processes and leadership development as well as supporting operations of a learning and talent development department.
  • Experience supporting change management through the design and/or evolution of processes in a complex, multi-location organization.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing learning and talent development programs/processes at scale.
  • Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across complex stakeholder groups.
  • Experience operating successfully within a matrixed, multi-location organization.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and navigate confidential discussions.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using metrics to drive and demonstrate impact.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead engaging, productive sessions with audiences at all levels.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word); experience with Power BI a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or related field preferred; advanced degree a plus.

Pay Transparency: $105k - 135k annually
