Team Overview

The Operating Platform Technology function designs, builds, and maintains the platforms and data infrastructure that support firm-wide operations, trading compliance, accounting, financial reporting, management reporting, and compensation processes. The team interfaces closely with Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Finance, Tax, Legal, HR, and senior management.

Job Overview

We are seeking a senior full-stack software engineer to work on modernization of the Operating Platform.

This role combines hands-on engineering leadership and stakeholder partnership. The senior developer will be responsible for the design, reliability, scalability, and evolution of the Operating Platform systems.

The ideal candidate is a strong senior developer who has experience in some or all off the following business streams: trading compliance, regulatory reporting, financial data, accounting workflows, and who can translate complex financial processes into robust, auditable, and production-grade systems.

Major Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and own full-stack applications across the Operating Platform — front-end interfaces, back-end services and APIs, and the data pipelines that support operations, compliance, accounting, and reporting workflows
  • Drive the modernization of existing systems, re-architecting legacy components into scalable, cloud-native solutions deployed on AWS and Kubernetes
  • Design and embed AI agent–based workflows into the platform — automating manual operational, compliance, and reporting processes while keeping humans in the loop where oversight and auditability demand it
  • Partner directly with stakeholders across Compliance, Operations, Treasury, Finance, Tax, Legal, and HR to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into sound technical designs
  • Build auditable, well-controlled systems with strong attention to data integrity, lineage, and access controls, given the sensitivity of financial and compensation data
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues across the stack, and contribute to a stable, well-monitored cloud operating environment
  • Participate in the evaluation and introduction of new technologies and approaches, including emerging AI and agentic tooling

What We Value

  • Extensive full-stack engineering experience (4+ years): modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular), back-end development (e.g., C#/.NET, Python), and both relational and analytical data stores (e.g., MS SQL Server, Snowflake)
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a demonstrated track record of delivering and operating production systems at scale
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications, ideally on AWS, using containerization (Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code, and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building or integrating AI agent–based or LLM-powered workflows into production systems
  • Experience building systems within financial services or asset management across some or all of the following: trading compliance, regulatory reporting, financial data, and accounting workflows
  • Proven ability to design auditable, well-controlled systems that handle sensitive data
  • Strong command of software architecture, API design, data modeling, and system integration
  • Experience modernizing or re-architecting legacy systems without disrupting business-critical operations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical business stakeholders and translate their needs into technical solutions
  • An ownership mindset and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, autonomous, fast-paced environment

We anticipate the base salary of this role to be between $190,000-250,000. In addition to a base salary, the successful candidate will also be eligible to receive a discretionary year-end bonus.

In all respects, candidates need to reflect the following SFM core values:

Smart risk-taking   //   Owner’s Mindset   //   Teamwork   //   Humility   //   Integrity
