OVERVIEW

The Senior Pricing Analyst will independently develop and lead financial modeling and pricing strategies for complex client and matter arrangements with a focus on client and matter profitability. This role offers significant exposure to partner-level decision-making and requires the ability to translate complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Independently develops and defends financial models projecting the impact of proposed pricing arrangements;
  • Evaluates financial exposure and risk in pricing arrangements, and suggests any potential appropriate alternative pricing structures;
  • Directly communicates pricing recommendations, projected profitability, and key assumptions to partners and senior stakeholders;
  • Utilizes data mining to identify and analyze matter precedent and maintains and updates a precedent database;
  • Leads collaboration with attorneys to build detailed client and matter budgets including staffing assumptions, phase-level estimates, and scenario analyses;
  • Develops pricing and budget templates for different types of legal matters, including guidelines and frameworks to be applied;
  • Gathers financial data needed to respond to client RFPs for existing and prospective clients and assists by preparing financial aspects of responses for submissions;
  • Tracks and analyzes fee and cost write-ups/downs and account receivable write-offs;
  • Works closely with the Billing team to ensure that client and matter fee arrangements are implemented and tracked appropriately;
  • Mentors and provides day-to-day guidance to Analysts and Junior Analysts;
  • Reviews, refines, and elevates analysis performed by analysts, ensuring accuracy and consistency;
  • Stays informed of current pricing and rate trends within the legal market, and applies learned concepts to help improve the Firm’s pricing capabilities;
  • Manages multiple concurrent pricing and budgeting requests in a fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times; and
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Mathematics or Business Administration; MBA or CPA a plus;
  • 3 - 6 years of relevant experience in pricing or similar role, preferably in a legal or other professional services environment;
  • Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present complex financial metrics both in writing and orally;
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and ability to synthesize numerical data and metrics effectively;
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling in MS Excel with proficiency in manipulating raw data into valuable information;
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Elite 3E and SQL;
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with staff and attorneys at all levels;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, time-sensitive work with strong attention to detail and minimal supervision;
  • Highly accountable team player who strives to contribute to a growing pricing team and is continually utilizing creativity to identify new ways that the team can grow as a valuable asset to the Firm;
  • Excellent judgment and ability to deal discreetly with confidential information; and
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed.

This position is located in our New York office, and currently has a hybrid work schedule, but that is subject to change. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $165,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and where applicable, licensure or certification obtained. Market and Firm factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and discretionary bonus(es), we offer a generous employee benefits package including, but not limited to, paid time off, medical, dental, vision care, 401(k) and substantial health club discounts.
