About Pickle

Pickle is a rental marketplace that aims to monetize the billions of underutilized assets sitting in consumers closets and brands inventory. Users can easily tap into shared closets within their community through flexible and/or on-demand delivery options. Our goal is to provide affordable and convenient access to quality items exactly when our users need them. We are starting with P2P clothing/accessories and expanding to other categories.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer who pairs a strong understanding for users with an analytical mindset and crisp visual craft. You’ll own end‑to‑end design for core marketplace flows—search, product discovery, listing, checkout, and post‑rental engagement—working together with Product, Engineering, Growth, and Data to ship experiences that are both beautiful and measurably effective.

You’ll be hands‑on with research, interaction design, and visual systems; comfortable framing problems with metrics; and intentional about information hierarchy so every page and detail has its purpose.

Requirements
  • 5+ years designing consumer‑facing digital products, ideally in marketplaces, e‑commerce, social/community, or fashion/luxury environments.
  • A strong portfolio that shows elegant interaction design, refined visual taste, and clear results (e.g., conversion lifts, engagement gains).
  • Fluency with modern design tools (e.g. Figma).
  • Experience designing alongside growth or analytics teams; comfortable with dashboards, SQL, GA, or similar tools, and running/judging experiments.
  • Proven ability to prioritize information, simplify complexity, and create hierarchy that guides users to action.
  • Deep user‑centric mindset paired with an appreciation for brand and storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to frame problems and rationale succinctly.

Nice‑to‑haves:

  • Familiarity with front‑end frameworks (React/Next.js) and an eye for feasibility.
  • Passion for fashion tech, sustainability, or peer‑to‑peer economies.
  • Experience growing products from early traction to scale.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead discovery & user understanding
    • Plan and conduct qualitative research (user interviews, moderated tests) and quantitative deep‑dives (funnels, heat‑maps, experiment results).
    • Synthesize insights into journey maps, personas, and opportunity areas.
  • Craft end‑to‑end product experiences
    • Produce flows, wireframes, high‑fidelity mocks, and prototypes for mobile and web.
    • Iterate quickly with tight feedback loops, balancing speed with polish.
  • Drive data‑informed design decisions
    • Partner with Product and Data to define success metrics, design A/B tests, and interpret results.
    • Champion a culture of hypothesis‑driven experimentation.
  • Own our design system & visual language
    • Evolve Pickle’s component library, ensuring accessibility, responsiveness, and brand consistency for the team to leverage across app and other marketing materials
    • Document patterns so designers and engineers move faster together.
  • Collaborate & influence
    • Present work to cross‑functional stakeholders, articulate trade‑offs, and advocate for the user.
    • Collaborate with Engineering to test new features from a design perspective.

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation and equity
  • Healthcare (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Take what you need paid time off
  • Meal Pal credits to cover the cost of lunch
  • Stipend to help set up your desk and office environment
  • Work directly with the founders and executive team
  • Professional coaching, training, and development
  • Grow with the company
  • Pickle credits for our employees, we love when the team uses Pickle!
  • Fun team events and company parties
  • Company offsites
  • Office space in NYC
