Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

As the Senior  Product Manager for International Platform and Globalization at Clio, you will deliver the shared platform features that let every Clio market run on the same product, such as jurisdiction, currency, and the other configuration layers a market depends on. You will also run the globalization program that ships Clio in each local language. You will work across all International product, engineering, and design teams rather than with a dedicated team of your own. This role suits someone who has built shared capability that three or more product teams consume, has run a cross-functional program with outside vendors, and delivers through teams that do not report to them.

Clio is growing, backed by a strong business model and first-rate investors and advisors. Product Managers here grow their scope as the business grows. Our product management culture gives PMs influence across the organization, and our team brings together seasoned professionals from a diverse set of product backgrounds.

What you'll work on:

Platform Feature Delivery:

  • You own the execution of the platform features every market builds on, including jurisdiction, currency, and the other configuration layers that let a feature vary by country, region, or language. You take each one from requirement to production and then to adoption across markets.
  • You deliver at scale. Each configuration layer you ship should let the next market launch by adding configuration, with less new code each time, and without disrupting firms already running on Clio.
  • You deliver through the engineering teams that own each layer and through internationalization engineering. You set the plan, sequence the work across teams, and keep one current view of what each market can use today and what is still in flight.

Cross-Market Product Leadership:

  • Regional Product Managers own their markets and lead the decision on how and where we build each feature, together. You bring the cross-market view to that decision: where two markets need the same thing, what already exists, and what each option costs the next market.
  • You consolidate requirements from regional PMs across Europe, Asia Pacific, and North America, so that we route a shared need once to the team that owns it.
  • When regional PMs cannot reach a decision, you bring leadership the options, a recommendation, and the cost of waiting.

Feature Velocity and Coverage:

  • We measure your success on three things: 1) feature delivery velocity, meaning the time it takes a Clio feature to reach international markets, 2) coverage, meaning the share of Clio's product suite available and localized in each market, and 3) the time and engineering effort each new market launch needs.
  • Your counter-metric is quality in markets already live. Gains do not count if they add defects or translation errors for firms already running on Clio.

Globalization Program Leadership:

  • Today our localization work is split across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Education, and Support, and each team solves the same translation, quality, and vendor problems on its own. You define and run the operating model that brings that work together.
  • You coordinate delivery across those five functions, so that a market launch ships its product, help content, marketing, and support in the local language on the same date.
  • You own translation vendor strategy and management, including the contracted language specialists we engage for each market.
  • You set the quality bar that vendor work and machine translation output have to meet.

System Design and Technical Depth:

  • You read and reason about how we built our platform, including where a data model carries a single-country assumption and what changing it costs firms already running on it.
  • You lead design discussions with staff and principal engineers on cardinality, extensibility, and migration, and you leave with a written decision.
  • You partner with internationalization engineering on the translation pipeline, locale formats, and the testing that catches a hard-coded country assumption before a customer does.

Influencing Central Teams:

  • The platform features you deliver sit inside products other teams build, and those teams carry goals and roadmaps set without international markets in them. You build the case and you name the tradeoff you are asking them to make.

Speed Toward a Clear Vision:

  • You set a clear vision for how Clio supports any market, then ship toward it in weeks. We expect a first change that a customer or a market team can see within your first 90 days.
  • We aim to build each platform feature once for every market, however there are scenarios where a market's regulatory deadline arrives before the general version is ready. In those cases we will ship a configuration for that market and fund its move into the shared platform with the next market that needs it.
  • You parallelize. When a workstream can run alongside another, you run it alongside, and you say what serializing would cost in weeks when you choose to serialize.

AI Native Working Style:

  • You work AI-first by default. You use AI for research synthesis, requirements drafting, data querying, program tracking, and prototyping, and you can show how it changed your throughput.
  • You build your own working systems, from prompts and chained tools to a lightweight agent or script that removes repetitive work from your week.
  • You know which AI output needs verification, including machine translation and anything that bears on compliance, and you verify it.

Cross-Functional Partnership:

  • Partner closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Customer Education, Support, Finance, Legal, and Operations, in Toronto, Vancouver, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across a matrixed organization with clarity and diplomacy.

What you bring:

  • 7 or more years of experience in product management, including at least 3 owning platform, infrastructure, or shared capabilities that other product teams build on
  • Experience delivering configuration or platform capability that three or more markets or product teams adopted in production, such as multi-currency, multi-jurisdiction, or localization
  • Experience running a cross-functional program that spans product and go-to-market teams, including managing outside vendors against a quality bar and a date
  • Technical depth sufficient to own data model and migration decisions with senior engineers, from an engineering background or equivalent hands-on experience
  • A platform capability you shipped that cut the time or effort other teams spent, with the before and after numbers
  • Evidence of delivering through teams that do not report to you and that carry no accountability for your outcome
  • A demonstrated AI-native working style, with specific examples of how you use AI in your product practice
  • Based in Toronto or the US Eastern time zone, with daily overlap with Europe and North America and one or two early or late calls a week with Asia Pacific
  • Experience using data to inform decisions without succumbing to analysis paralysis
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team without ego
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Serious bonus points if you:

  • Have run localization programs with translation management systems and machine translation post-editing
  • Know internationalization standards such as Unicode, ICU, and CLDR
  • Have built payments, tax, or billing capability across three or more countries
  • Have built for multiple hosting regions or data residency requirements
  • Speak a second language at a professional level
  • Have built internal tooling or agents to support your own product practice
This role is a backfill for an existing position.
