Secure Every Identity, from AI to Human
Identity is the key to unlocking the potential of AI. Okta secures AI by building the trusted, neutral infrastructure that enables organizations to safely embrace this new era. This work requires a relentless drive to solve complex challenges with real-world stakes. We are looking for builders and owners who operate with speed and urgency and execute with excellence.
This is an opportunity to do career-defining work. We're all in on this mission. If you are too, let's talk.

About the Role

As Senior Product Manager, Policies, you own product strategy and execution for Okta's authentication policy roadmap. The Policies team owns how Okta evaluates risk and context to decide when, how, and whether a user, machine, or agentic identity is allowed to authenticate and stay authenticated. This includes Application Sign-On Policy, Global Session Policy, Okta Account Management Policy (OAMP), and Device Signal Collection Policy as well as the underlying Policy Framework, Policy API, and Auth Pipeline that power them.

Policies is foundational to the entire Okta product portfolio as it's the decision layer that sits between every authentication event and the security experience a customer wants for their end users. You'll work closely with engineering, design, other product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders across Okta's platform to ensure policy capabilities evolve strategically, including how policy changes are rolled out and managed at scale (change management / identity operations).

What You'll Do

  • Own roadmap and prioritization for your product area, balancing customer requests, platform needs, and market/strategic differentiation
  • Collaborate with design and engineering to define, scope, and ship policies that have best-in-class user experience while meeting the security needs of Okta customers
  • Drive product direction for the Policy Framework, Policy API, and Auth Pipeline that underpin every policy evaluation across Okta
  • Define how policy changes are managed operationally — versioning, staged rollout, auditability, and rollback — as part of a broader change management and identity operations strategy
  • Work directly with customers, Solutions Engineering, Support, and other product teams to understand policy needs and translate them into product requirements
  • Use AI tools to accelerate spec writing, competitive analysis, and rapid prototyping to drive roadmap alignment and execution
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, including engineering, field teams, tech partnerships, and marketing, to ensure successful launch and adoption of policy-related experiences
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, representing Policies in customer escalations, executive briefings, and enterprise prospect evaluations, as well as partnerships with Marketing and GTM counterparts
  • Track industry trends in adaptive authentication, risk-based access, and session security to develop solutions differentiated from the competition

What You Bring to Okta

  • 6+ years experience in product management
  • Experience in identity, security, enterprise-scale, platform, or developer products
  • Ability to have in-depth technical discussions with engineering teams
  • Ability to connect platform-level decisions to Okta's broader business outcomes and market position as a technology leader
  • Ability to empathize and dig deeper into customer problems and needs before designing solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable flexing between spec-level detail and executive narrative
  • Entrepreneurial and ownership mindset - given an ambiguous problem, you decide what matters, decide what to do about it, and drive it forward
  • Collaborative by default - you strive to earn trust with customers, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders. Your default is to bring people in early and often to inform a blended, stronger direction

Nice to Have

  • Experience with policy engines, rules-based decisioning systems, or risk-scoring products
  • Experience with change management tooling, feature flagging, or safe-rollout systems at scale
  • Experience with non-human identity or agentic identity use cases as they relate to authentication policy
