Why This Role Matters

The function of the Senior Proposals Writer role within the Proposals Department is to project manage, develop pitch strategy, identify key differentiators and narratives, write and assemble business documents to aid Specialists and Executives convince potential consignors that Christie’s is the best choice to sell their property. The role is expected to oversee proposals for major consignments. This role will also provide integral support to other members of the team in preparing proposals for sale.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Project manage, assemble and organize written letters, complex proposals for sale, digital presentations, agendas, market reports, timelines, comp sheets, and myriad other business-getting tools for Specialists and Executives across all areas of the business.

  • Develop and hone messaging about Christie’s strategic advantages and strengths, while also ensuring that our proposals address clients’ priorities.

  • Lead meetings with specialists of various departments to strategize, structure proposals and project timetables.

  • Write and organize proposals/presentations in allotted time.

  • Proactively track Christie’s marketing and sale activities, developing new sections for proposals.

  • Lead pitch coaching sessions, developing pitch messages and narratives for specialists and business-getters.

  • Gather appropriate statistical information and illustrations of comparable property sold at Christie’s and in the overall market for own proposals and those of other team members.

  • Collaborate with Specialists to incorporate feedback on own documents and for other team members. Make recommendations for new sections and messaging.

  • Strategize and coordinate with Proposals Designers to convey the appropriate style and ensure that all accompanying materials are completed in a timely fashion.

  • Assist with scanning of images for the department when necessary.

  • Assist with assembling proposals for own projects and for other team members.

  • Proofread documents.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Proposals team on larger projects, either as a team leader or in an assisting role, depending on the project.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Must have Bachelor of Arts Degree.

  • 5-7 years of relevant work experience preferred.

  • Client-facing or constituent-facing experience preferred.

  • Extremely professional and polished.

  • Excellent writing/communications ability; ability to tell stories and weave narratives.

  • Strong knowledge of InDesign.

  • Experience using FIGMA preferred.

  • Knowledge of Mac computers and software programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Photoshop preferred.

  • Extremely proficient project management skills and ability to lead meetings with senior executives and management.

  • Strong analytical skills so as to evaluate a variety of statistics relating to Christie’s performance.

  • Knowledge of the auction/art market.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent time management and ability to work under extremely tight deadlines and intense pressure.

  • Solutions-oriented, motivated, extremely efficient, extremely proactive, self-starter and a great team player.

  • Four days in the office/week required, with additional days in the office as needed.

  • Fluent in English.

Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
