The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Generate new sales opportunities for an account executive team by reaching out to potential buyers, mostly over the phone. Work alongside several departments to improve how the team positions its offering and chooses who to contact.
What you'll do
- Reach potential buyers through calls, emails and professional networking messages to create a steady flow of interested leads.
- Assess whether prospects are a fit and set up introductory conversations for the closing team.
- Partner with sales, marketing and engineering colleagues to improve outreach messaging and audience selection.
- Develop solid expertise in the product and the market you sell into.
- Hit or beat the pipeline goals set for each month and quarter.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least 1 year as a full-time outbound SDR or BDR, or in a customer-facing role in the public sector or government contracting space, such as business development analyst or customer success.
- Comfort running outreach across several channels, with cold calling at the center.
- Enthusiasm for making a large number of cold calls each day as your primary way of reaching people.
- A history of starting conversations with people who did not contact you first, rather than relying on warm or inbound interest.
- A self-directed working style that lets you build opportunities with limited supervision.
- Living in New York and able to work in the office five days per week.
Bonus points
- Familiarity with common CRM and sales outreach tools.
- Experience selling to government contractors or public-sector technology buyers.
- Experience working at an early-stage startup.
