A Day in the Life
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and review internal financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses for leadership.
- Ensure accurate and organized financial records in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
- Perform account analysis, investigate discrepancies, and implement solutions to maintain data integrity across accounting and reporting systems.
- Manage documentation for annual financial reviews or audits conducted by external accounting firms.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other departments to support cross-functional reporting, provide insights, and improve decision-making.
- Lead or participate in special projects, including process improvements, automation initiatives, and reporting enhancements.
- Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on accounting best practices and compliance.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of accounting or financial reporting experience (public accounting or SaaS industry experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, with solid exposure to revenue recognition (ASC 606), internal controls, and audit processes.
- Demonstrated experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements independently.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, reporting tools).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and close management/reconciliation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence business partners.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
